Holiday Lanes — Attraction in Weirton District

This was a deeply disappointing experience, and a complete waste of our time and money. We drove 45 minutes with a group of seven, including excited children, after calling ahead to confirm we could use a lane for open bowling until 3 PM. The employee on the phone said we were good to go.

However, when we arrived at 1 PM, we were told we couldn't bowl because the entire alley was booked for a party starting at 3 PM. After 30 minutes of trying to calm our family down, we finally convinced the employee to let us have one lane. We paid $50 for what we were told was an hour and a half of bowling, but our experience on the lane was poor. The staff did not offer bumpers for the kids, and when a ball got stuck, it took over 10 minutes for someone to come help us. This felt especially disrespectful since the employee was aware we were on a tight schedule.

Ultimately, our game was shut off at 2:30 PM, a full 30 minutes earlier than what we were told we had paid for. It's a bad business practice to take a customer's money with a verbal agreement and then go back on your word. This lack of professionalism also cost the business more money, as we were rushed through our game and had no time to purchase the additional drinks and food we would have otherwise bought. i was owed an apology or maybe you can learn from my incident and choose better training techniques for your employees If a guy being nice coming in and leaving scares you enough to call police maybe thats not job for you. Id hate to see that employee in a real reason to call he'd panic. And thats one thing your not supposed to do in a real situation, that requires police enforcement. Is Panic. Their are drug dealers killing people with their drugs, rapist, thieves and murderers, drunk drivers etc.. because he wants to call police when a suspicious looking character comes in and is polite. If you book a birthday party here make sure they give you the correct amount it cost: Was told a price when deposit was made and surprise it was a lot higher day of! Horrible manager with 0 customer service skills and NOT a nice/decent demeanor, Did NOTHING to even try to rectify their mistakes! Overbooked parties today , no room, reserved 4 lanes( didn't get), and didn't have a bowling pin for child's birthday: (that was part of the cost, and you don't disappoint a child when they look forward to that!
