While at the pool with my niece and nephew; my nephew was told that he was too tall for a slide. To my surprise, both lifeguards prohibited him from using it, despite one of them having initially allowed it and the other one who allowed it went on break but the situation arose when the second lifeguard came to replace the other lifeguard. I approached the lifeguard to discuss the discrepancy, mentioning that my nephew has been on these slides before without any issues. I emphasized that we also had his 3-year-old sister with us, and my nephew couldn't pass the swim test. Following my conversation with the lifeguard, I felt reassured, as he had indicated it was fine for him to use the slides. However, the situation took a turn. When he attempted the same slide next to the other slide, it seemed the communication didn't reach the other lifeguard, leading to the same restriction. I approached the second lifeguard, reiterating the same points I had discussed with the first. Regrettably, the second lifeguard's response was far from understanding. He made remarks like "not while I'm here," and questioned whether I really wanted him to use the larger slide, despite his swimming limitations.
They blatantly disregarded HIS SAFETY despite several key factors: he is just a few inches taller than 4 feet, he had already been granted permission to use the slide, the kids' area wasn't crowded, his inability to pass the swim test limited his other activities, he is with his 3-year-old sister, and he has a disability. So no it's not about me wanting him to use the other slide on the other side of the park.
Overall, this incident highlighted a severe breakdown in communication between the lifeguards and a concerning lack of consideration for the well-being and enjoyment of all individuals present at the pool.
Imagine being a 10-year-old boy, enjoying the slides, spending quality time with your family, and having a blast. But then, out of nowhere, a lifeguard who is briefly there embarrasses you and leaves. How would you feel in...
Read moreTook my 2 year old twins going for the first time and the place is very clean. We went on a Monday so it wasn't super crazy busy packed. They do section it off where adults are on the other side and kiddies on the other. The kiddies have 2 umbrellas covered, kiddie slide, and the water sprinklers. Kiddie water height was max 2 feet. We didn't go by the adult side but they do have the water slides/rides/tubes and is of course deeper. You can't bring in food food but you can definitely bring in little snacks for the little ones. Otherwise they do have their version of "kids meal" of chicken nuggets or corn dogs along with fries and a fruit cup for around $6.99 that they place in a bucket with shovel that you can use later to play in the water. There are lockers that you can put your things in but only downside I would say is that they don't have enough sun chairs for everyone especially when it's packed, you'll have to put your items on the floor, bushes, trees, or grass depending on where you like to go. Also a plus is that there's a kids playground right next to the kiddie side but of course you can't wear swim clothes to play in that area for safety reasons but they can always play before/after...
Read moreFrom the times I’ve been there, it was ok. There was a few issuses though. One of the things I noticed was that there was some issuses with keeping the grounds clean. for example, I saw someone riding through the water in the swallow end with a wheelchair. The wheels are probably full of dirt, so that’s probably kinda gross (but it was close to closing time, so it wasn’t that big of a deal.). Another thing is that someone therw up on the stairs on the way up to a slide. No one cleaned it up, but kids were walking through it and going into the water with that on their feet. Yuck. The other thing is the swim tests. I went to cool waters with my cousin, and we are both pretty good swimmers. I tried to pass, but they told me my head needed to be out of the water. My cousin tried, they told her the same thing. I tried again and I passed. But my cousin didn’t. It took her at least 4 tries before she finally gave up. Yes, I understand these tests are for safety, but it’s easier to swim with your head under the water when doing front stroke. I think that this is an ok water park for a...
