Read moreI'm somewhat hesitant to review because part of the appeal of this spot is the clandestine feel, but it's too beautiful not to share. If you're looking for a place to watch the sunset in Central Jersey, this is the best view I've seen anywhere. There is a tiny parking lot and from there a 10-12 minute walk to the overlook. You can see the entire town of New Hope and beyond reflecting in the Delaware River as the sun sets over PA. If you arrive early enough there are one or two picnic tables, otherwise bring a blanket or we were actually comfortable just sitting on the grass. Local tip, there's a policeman who usually patrols the lot and they try to make sure people leave before dark. As soon as the sun is partially set, consider starting to walk back, otherwise you might need to...
Read moreParking is definitely tricky since there are limited spots, and the road to the parking lot can be treacherous due to pot holes (drive very slowly), but the view of New Hope/Lambertville is stunning. Look up the walking paths beforehand as there aren’t many signs or trail guides along the way. If you want to get to the main overlook area head towards the right after you enter from the gate area. There is a shortcut through the mountains which can be steep for some (first right after the gate), or you can take the main path and take a hard right at the fork/bend. Bring a snack to enjoy at the picnic tables (don’t forget to take your trash with you when you leave!) or a blanket to sit on the grass while you...
