Certainly this could be more developed and engaging from a Texas history standpoint, but not sure West Columbia can do any better. If you're close by, it's worth a trip. Check it the Hogg plantation...

Great learning experience with lots of info on how the First Congress happened. Many other items of interest around the area such as the museum, Varner Hogg Plantation, and an authentic Rosenwald...
