This is arguably the oldest Asian market in the Tippecanoe, Carroll, and White County areas. It has been in operated in essentially a consistent manner since the 1990s and expanded since then.
This market offers the kind of store experience one would find going to a small shop in a southeast-Asian country. It does a good job with providing a diverse selection of foods from different Asian countries, most especially given its size opposed to focusing on foods strictly from the likes of Japan or Korea. They do, tho', have some fare from such locales, e.g., kinoko no yama (Japanese chocolate biscuit/cookie snacks otherwise known as 'Choco Shrooms' to Westerners).
They have a decent selection of frozen dumplings and buns, i.e., mandu, gyoza, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), bao, siaopao, etc. The frozen goods are also kept in freezer cases with doors opposed to open-top, non-closed cases so their storage temperature is kept constant as possible. They also seem to have perhaps one of the larger selections of fresh tofu.
Their staff is also polite, patient, and helpful in regard to questions about products.
Pro Tip

Otherwise, if you choose to drive to the store from 52, you will possibly have to wait in the middle turn lane and chance playing playing chicken with traffic coming from Northwestern (because you will have to turn left in front of them to enter Asia Global Market's...
Read moreIn my opinion (as a non-Asian person) the best Asian grocery store in greater Lafayette. They have a quite comprehensive inventory and good prices, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only quibble is the produce section - produce can be seasonal, of course, but their selection seems to change a lot every time I visit, and the labels are not always correct, not translation problems but for example bok choy labeled in both Chinese and English as Chinese broccoli. If you’re looking for something you’re not familiar with, you could easily end up with the wrong thing. Other than that, I’d highly recommend paying them a visit if you’re looking for any Asian (or even some other hard-to-find international)...
