This thing is a beautiful synthesis of science and art. I've been past this several times and didn't realize what it was. The center sculpture is a "sun" and you can take a seat and have some shade under it (shady closer to the sun? Weird, I know). Then they have the inner planets through Mars and some info on them under the sun. The outside of that you'll find Jupiter, Saturn, and the rest of the crew spaced out from the center like a mini-solar system.

I visited the VOSS Model on 3 August. It’s an amazingly impressive dedicated to Janice Voss, a Purdue alumnus, who flew on the STS-57, STS-83, and STS-99 missions. The Home of Purdue website lists the address on their website as 610 Purdue Mall, but the actual address is 217 S. Martin Jischke Drive. A fun spot to visit for space enthusiasts that recalls the Sagan Planet Walk in Ithaca, NY.

Great place to take kids and learn about the solar system. The massive sun with bright orange and yellow paint draws you in and the information is nicely laid out on plaques. Quiet part of campus near discovery park is a great place to sit or walk around. Pack a lunch and enjoy a nice...
