The upper area of the lake, which is where we were, is pretty low key. The parking lot is on the hill above it, and is a pretty steep walk down. Handicapped folks can drive down to be dropped off, but not to park. Boaters can do the same (if the boat is portable). There is a playground in full sun, a small shelter for picnics, and a bridge with a fishing level. Other than that, you have a road/path that stretches about one mile in each direction. Tony and I went to the Cheat Lake Marina in the Cheat Lake area of Morgantown WV. The area was lovely, but not the marinas at the ocean, but it just had to do today!!
The boats were very lovely! The Dockside Restaurant at the Marina was not open yet, so we decided to drive over to Sunset Beach Marina to have lunch at the Lake House Restaurant.

Not a fan unfortunately. We like to find a nice spot to pull up on in our boat and hang out for a while with our pups. There are few if any places to do that. There is either no land area or it is private property if you find some. In addition, there is 1 public launch and it’s really small and hectic. This seems more like a “hang out at the bar” or “drive around aimlessly”...
