This hotel sits up against a busy highway which is okay but If you choose a room with a balcony request one in the front of the hotel. The hotel is located in a business complex with a restaurant/bar directly across from it. That's great and all except there is absolutely NO parking at all. The lot is so small and with the popular restaurant across there is no where to park. The hotel lobby is nice and clean. We had to switch rooms the same night as check in due to the heat/air conditioner not working. The screen would kick on for a second then go black. The front desk insisted that there was a thermostat on the wall as if they did not believe us when we told them there was not. However we were moved into another room ( the thermostat was on the wall) and all was fine. I think it was a renovated room. Although we originally booked a balcony room we were moved into a standard king with no balcony. Rooms were clean, and the standard toiletries were provided soap, shampoo, body wash and lotion. You did have to pay for breakfast a $5.00 per person daily fee. I did not get breakfast so I can't comment on the food. Staff seemed nice but there was one woman who was very jittery and didn't seem to understand certain things when I was discussing the room switch. She was not dressed appropriately for working at the front desk of a hotel. Looks like she was ready to go to the bar. It was very tacky. Overall I would not stay here or recommend this place. I was very disappointed with the choice group with this hotel. It must have been acquired by the choice brand from another hotel because they have a banner style sign hanging up above the entrance on the outside of the building. This hotel is passed off as a premium upgrade by choice but it is far from it. There are many other options to choose from....
Read moreGot a great night’s sleep here. Normal noises for being next to a highway, nothing crazy. Thankful I wasn’t on the restaurant side of the hotel (Tropics) bc the band was POPPING and so was the bass. (Only Friday nights apparently) The front desk employees were very welcoming and very dog friendly. Had everything ready for my reservation and checkin was smooth. Our room was SO clean and SO nice. From the linens to the lemon scented shampoo provided, everything felt upgraded and vastly improved from your average hotel stay. It definitely felt like a splurge at an upgraded hotel compared to my usually Sleep Inn stays. A few tips for dog travelers: there’s not a great outdoor potty place for pups. The two back doors lead to a small concrete slab immediately followed by a fairly steep grassy slope which is extremely difficult if you have any sort of mobility or balance issues. Also they are not keyed entries so I noticed others were placing a large rock in the doorway in order to be able to re-enter. Lastly, there was NO light out there which made it harder for me as a mobility impaired guest and even with using a flashlight I accidentally brought someone else’s neglected droppings back in with me on my shoe. After that I opted to walk the long way out front and around the building to be able to make use of the sidewalk that doesn’t extend around to the backside. Thankfully our stay and our room were incredibly nice and clean so I would recommend and...
Read moreI have to start out by saying how great the staff was at the hotel and they are the reason its not a one start rating. We had an issue with the room right from the beginning but the staff did everything they could to try and help us out. When you book stay away from the even numbered rooms as they face the hwy and its so loud. We would not have been able to sleep with the amount of truck and car noise. We tried a room on the 3rd and 1st floor and neither were acceptable. We went from a 2 queen room to a single king bed room on the other side of the hotel with my son sleeping on the couch and my daughter sleeping on the floor because that was the only option on that side of the hotel. There were no roll away beds or extra pillows available. Even on that side it was noisy but that was because you could hear the room above us clear as day. The parking lot is shared with the restaurant next door so it was difficult to find parking and when I did someone keyed my rental car in the parking lot. Not sure if that was because of the nice car we rented or because it was Ontario plates. The breakfast was not bad but cost us $5 per person. Most hotels would include that but I guess because there aren't a lot of other options close by the hotel the owners figure you will pay it just like we did.
The staff tried their best but we weren't happy with the hotel and will try and find a different place next...
