I worked at the Atlantic Beach Park / Windjammer over the summer of 2017 and I can say that most people will tell you the negatives after leaving a job at a bar. However, the same cannot be said about the Windjammer. The windjammer surf bar has the most incredible views, its directly on the open Atlantic ocean, its almost exactly center of the horshoe which makes up the entirety of Misquomicut beach which means the Windjammer surf bar is the best place to catch waves for the best boogie boarding, surfboarding, or belly surfing experiences.
The Windjammer surf bar offers a very wide variety of beverages for adults, as well as a very tasteful variety of non alcoholic beverages for folks who want to avoid alcohol.
The Windjammer surf bar also offers a snack bar for fresh fried appetizers and snacks, a patio bar overlooking the water, an indoor bar with television, indoor dining, a rental hall, and two pairs of outdoor restrooms, and a changing area.
The Windjammer surf bar is a great place to go whether youre single, or with the...
Read moreI feel bad criticizing the place, as I know tourist places like this are still struggling post-pandemic to recoup years of losses, but the Arcade is really in need of some investment / renovation. The arcade has no AC or cross breeze, is dark and sweltering, dirty, and all the games are old and paint worn off or out of order. I went on a Friday in August and there was literally only 1 teenager running the whole thing, refilling tickets, repairing jammed machines, AND redeeming tickets for prizes, all in the blazing heat.....poor kid! My children enjoyed it, but every adult was eyeing each other in commiseration and encouraging their kids to play through their quarters faster to get out of the heat and grime. I'll probably end up going back next summer, since my family visits this beach for a week every summer and my kids still like it, but I know for a fact that I would give my kids more money to play longer if somebody invested in even some modest upgrades...
Read moreAfter driving 45 minutes with 5 kids to go to the arcade and have lunch, we arrived to the Windjammer parking lot at 11am and were told the arcade will open at noon. It was a busy holiday and the hours are not up to date or listed anywhere online. We assumed they would be open on a popular holiday! We killed time on the beach and walked around. Well guess what? The arcade NEVER opened and we had some very sad and disappointed kids. Get it together! As a business owner myself, it takes about 2 minutes to update your business/holiday hours on Google. They could have made a killing today as their were other disappointed families. The parking attendant even told us they were open today. Sad to see a place we loved to frequent as kids go downhill so much. It would be awesome to share with a...
