Atlantic Beach Casino Resort — Hotel in Westerly

This was my second year at the Atlantic Beach Casino Resort. The location of this resort is unmatched, as it is right on the ocean and within reasonable driving distance of many attractions, for various interests. Our unit had a spacious balcony that we shared with our (one) neighbor, as well as a private balcony attached to the upstairs bedroom. There were bathrooms on both floors, both doors without locks, which was strange. There is no regular turndown service, what you get for towels and toiletries (as well as bed linens) is what you have for the duration of your visit, so pack accordingly and plan to visit a laundromat for the towels. I understand there used to be a jacuzzi in the pool room, but it's been covered up and I would assume they've done away with it. Nice indoor pool, the kids complained it was cold, but I thought it was refreshing, considering the 90* weather. There is a designated outdoor smoking area, grills and picnic tables. The parking is very tight and awkward to maneuver the lot, especially with large vehicles and most importantly without 4 wheel drive. As others have expressed, there is no casino on the premises. You would need to drive 45 minutes or so to Mohegan Sun...

You cannot beat the location of this resort! Ocean view? Perfection! Hospitality? Barbara was great! She checked in every few days to see how our stay was and if we needed anything. We had a two bedroom unit which was very clean and comfortable. Was it 5 star hotel comfortable? No...but, so what? There was some minor damage in the unit, but, nothing that prevented us from having a great time. We totally lucked out with perfect weather all week, I got a sunburn sitting out on the private balcony (with seating for 5) off the gigantic master bedroom. This in addition to the HUGE deck outside our front door (shared with unit next to us). Jealous yet? Kitchen had everything I needed. Linens and towels provided were great (nice fluffy towels). The only downfall was the pool and hot tub were out of order due to a heater issue. Barbara apologized and told us she was trying to have it fixed, but, the part had to come in. Fortunately, we own up the road at the Ocean Club, so, we just went there. Otherwise...great...
