We visited the place with my wife, both of us are pretty much absolute beginners. All of the employees were lovely, the snow cannons were working hard to make skiing possible even though we haven’t had any (natural) snow in quite some time. All of the organizational stuff was fantastic.
Where I was absolutely appalled was the attitude of some of the other skiers. There were groups of skate skiers in jerseys on the slope at the same time- you’d think they’re more experienced and therefore responsible, but boy would you be wrong assuming that. Selfish attitudes and complete lack of imagination and spacial awareness. Multiple times we’ve been cut off which led to a couple of close calls, by somebody who hardly had any control of their skis (though a complete beginner on skate skis, I’ve a bit of experience on downhill skis and it isn’t hard to tell when somebody is almost losing their control). Mind you we weren’t even skiing next to each other- we were leaving the groomed trail to our left for overtaking- clearly not enough for some people with overinflated egos.
I suggest heavy penalization of such behavior, it’s absolutely unacceptable and since they’re wearing jerseys I can imagine tracking down the people responsible is very easy. I’d expect them to be held to a higher scrutiny than your everyday beginner because they (supposedly) should know how to behave on slopes.
Sad, because the staff and the establishment itself was fantastic- but the fantastic experience has been dampened by people with lack of imagination...

Needed some ski boots which were only available online. Paid for them. Got a call the next day that they didn’t have that model anymore and I needed to pay 64 additional dollars for different boots which I did. I had now paid over 100 dollars for the boots and when I picked them up they gave me some scruffy, ripped and a bit SMELLY pair of boots. Definitely not what I expected for 100 dollars. Asked the girl about it and requested a call to sort things out.
Bryce did end up calling me and tried to make things right by giving me a small rebate offering to do anything I was comfortable with to make things fair. I appreciate that very much. Looks like they do try to be fair and did go the extra mile to try to give good service when they heard that I...
Read moreContrary to popular myth I am not the beaming child on the cover picture, despite the remarkable resemblance. The Weston Ski Track is the most authentic Nordic Center anywhere in the MetroWest region. Their dedication to snowmaking and grooming is matched only by their Instruction, Rental and Shop Staff's enthusiasm for all to have a great time participating in Nordic Sports. The thrill of the chase is always afoot if you choose to compete in one of the many leagues, races and events for people of all ages and abilities. I would also strongly recommend any Skier to consider taking a lesson on the regular from their quite unquestionably qualified staff. Several members of the staff are also trained in adaptive skiing equipment usage and can help any...
