Original Review: I’ve been a regular customer at Ascend because they generally have a great selection and friendly staff. However, I’ve had a recurring issue that is very disappointing. On multiple occasions, I’ve received significantly less product than what I paid for. For example, I’ve purchased 3.5 grams and only received 2 grams several times. While I know not everyone has a scale to check their purchase, I do, and it’s frustrating to feel shorted. I hope this issue can be addressed because it’s affecting my trust in the dispensary.
Update: Initially, a manager helped correct this issue by ensuring I received the proper amount, which I appreciated. However, the problem happened again recently when I bought a product labeled as 7 grams, only to find it weighed less. I tested it on multiple scales and recorded the entire process, from unwrapping to weighing, to ensure accuracy.
I returned to the store with this information after the manager informed me to bring it back if it was shorted. However, when I called ahead of time, I was told that typically, you can’t bring it back, but to come in and they’d see what they could do. I don’t like to waste my time, gas, or energy, especially since I live far away. Since I had to go to Costco anyway, I thought I’d just take the drive. Unfortunately, a different manager didn’t verify the weight or view the evidence I had; instead, I was told to repurchase the product. She claimed it was only a point gram short, but my question is, why not make it right and provide the full 7 grams? I’m not asking for anything free—just what I pay for each time.
In this economy, being shorted is tough, especially as a medical customer with a set allowance. I’ll be taking a break from Ascend to explore other local options in Rockaway, hoping my experience encourages improved quality control for other customers.
Below, I provided still shots of my video and a picture of my 6 grams.
SN: For my herbalist and non-herbalist friends, I suggest everyone get a scale and start holding dispensaries accountable! Start getting what you pay for and always trust your gut. Peace and love,...
Read moreFor about 3 years, I was coming to this location the most and the one in Montclair. I stopped coming here when I started buying faulty disposable vapes regularly. I drove 40 minutes and it was just such a pain to want to drive back to return etc. The staff there wanted to challenge and tell me it wasn’t hitting because it was (although full) old and dried out. I said well, that’s still bad because I bought it from you 5 days ago. The staff is a bit unprofessional, like just young and you’re stepping into their playground. Not necessarily rude. Unprofessional. It was getting harder to find a product or edible I enjoyed with ascend. It seems like they have partnerships and just rotate certain (bad) brands in their inventory, nothing new in years. A small family owned dispensary opened about 5 minutes down the road from me. Before, I thought all dispensaries were big and commercial like ascend with the same list of options. But this family owned dispensary had selections and brands I’ve never seen before! Infused and high concentration pre rolls (40mg thc+) for recreation. Super flavorful. Blunts. Foods, drinks, all these flavors and weeds and they run steep promotions on different products every single day of the week. They’re open like 10am -10pm. My mind was blown and I’ve never been back to...

Original: We walked in for the first time and were told to order at a kiosk or go to the register for medical. When we got into the cramped retail area and went up to register, we were embarrassingly turned around to a kiosk.
There is only one medical register and too many for recreational. The bud tender with long black hair that seemed to be a manager was rude in how she orders customers around. There are no signs anywhere showing where to go or which registers are medical only. She acts bothered and speaks condescendingly to customers.
The prices at these chain dispensaries are through the roof and the sales are mediocre on concentrates and vaporizers. Go to local dispensaries in town for actually good customer service and rewards programs. Kind Kush or Holistic Re-Leaf in Rockaway is leaps and bounds ahead of any...
