
So, first of all, I’d like to point out that I went to the store without that glorious cup of joe I run on every morning. That being said I needed hardware for a piece of furniture that I picked up acrossed the street. I later on found out that I would need to find two wooden tracks as two of the drawers did not have these tracks in particular. I went to this Home Depot with a budget in mind and yes it was tight. I looked at the hardware aisle and was very surprised at what I saw and also I was able to find the hardware that was within my budget. It also looked incredible. I was already feeling quite content with what I already discovered. I knew that the next part of this may be a little complex.
I looked up and down the hardware aisle to try to find this wooden track. I was both befuddled and confused. I decided that rather than walking anymore throughout the store to try to find these wooden pieces I was looking for I would enlist the help of a store employee. I found a gentleman In the power tools area that noticed that I had been looking around and also walking aimlessly perhaps and greeted me asking me if I needed any help. It was at this point that I had told him what I was looking for and he told me exactly what aisle to go down just as the initial gentleman told me. Now mind you without the cup of coffee that is crucial to someone like me I continuously said that I was looking for the wooden track. And Josh politely told me about the tracks that were at the bottom underneath the hardware where I purchased the knobs that I had in my hand. And I responded with well I am looking for the wooden ones because I’m just trying to replace the track. Now Josh is the most patient man on the face of planet earth as he explained to me again that the tracks that were there can be used on that drawer and described the process. I then felt like I received a gentle tap upside the head as things started to congeal. I realized I can install those metal tracks on that wooden piece. I explain to Josh that I figured that would just be for nicer IKEA furniture or something to that extent. He reassured me that I would be able to get the job done for the Two drawers that I needed stabilization on. I could not have been happier with the end result. I decided that I would also ask about a stud finder and he was also very knowledgeable about that. I was so pleased with my experience that I deemed it necessary to discuss my feelings on this particular Home Depot trip. Today is 5/28/25 and I was just at the Home Depot around 10-11 AM.
Was ready to buy $3000 of items to take advantage of the 24 month 0% financing and at checkout the cashier told me that I couldn’t get it unless I had a coupon!
I showed her the Home Depot website which made no mention of a coupon at all, but she INSISTED that I couldn’t get the financing offer unless I had a coupon.
Another cashier came over and admitted that she didn’t know anything about the promotional financing offer, which is better than the supposed “manager” - an elderly stout woman who also rudely told me that I had to have a coupon in order to get the 24 month financing offer.
I tried to explain to the 3 Stooges how that made no sense, but they firmly believed that they were right so we left.
I went to Home Depot in Roxbury and spoke with a woman at Customer Service and a man who was the head cashier and both of them were actually knowledgeable and told me that the 24 month financing would be automatically applied and that no coupon was necessary.
The 3 Stooges at this Home Depot in Dover told me I had to have a coupon so I wanted to triple check so I called the Home Depot credit card line and the customer representative there also told me that it would be automatically applied and that I didn’t need a coupon.
The whole experience was legitimately insane and it is astonishing how little training the employees at the Home Depot in Dover have compared to their giant egos.
They had no idea there even was a financing promotion going on and gave erroneous information causing the store the loss of a big sale due to their incompetence and rude behavior.
Imagine if this happened to me, how many other times these poorly trained employees have caused other customers to shop elsewhere, hurting the Dover Home Depot’s store metrics.

This Home Depot team, especially Sylvia in appliances, turned a potential customer service failure into a story of excellence. Their commitment, expertise, and genuine care have earned my loyalty. I wholeheartedly recommend this store for anyone in need of appliances. If I require any further home improvements, I'll be heading straight to this Home Depot and seeking out Sylvia's assistance.
