My review is for the LAKE itself as of July 2020. WBL is a very clear water lake, zebra mussels and shore owners taking out the weeds, making it very difficult to fish. On the weekends, there are people speeding around the entire day, along with winds, making the waves big and coming from all directions. The ramp parking will be full by 10am so if you plan on coming out, plan on waiting. A lot of people are weekenders with their boat and have no experience backing them into the lake so that takes time too. There is two ramps but no drop off station so you have a lot of people using the dock to sit and wait with their boat as their dads park the trailer. So waiting to get into the ramp from the lake is another story. The ramp themselves are covered with sand and lopsided. There is only one DOCK this year so that makes it even more difficult for most. The ramps are crooked due to the sand piles so this makes it more difficult for people to get their boats in line with the trailer. Nice lake but very crowded on the weekends and in my opinion, a lake to skip if you plan on trying to fish on a weekend. The park is nice for children. Lots of area for them to run around. The beach is clean and shallow. There are toilets with plumbing. There is special car parking away from the trailer parking. Cars parked in the trailer area will get ticketed and towed and vice versa. 1 stars for being wayyyy to crowded and chaos on the weekends. Very poor boat ramps this season with lack of a dock...
Read moreThe beach is rather large now due to the low water levels. It was nice when we went there because it wasn't too busy. But you definitely had to walk in pretty far to get to the water which had many tide pools created from the waves. The bathrooms were open so the kids could go and wash up. Plus they had the standalone shower that is outside to wash feet. The parking lot is very large and always has a place to park. This is really nice because the boat landing is in a different section so you don't have big vehicles to navigate around. The playground is quite fun and the kids seem to like that. We were able to bring inflatable kayaks but we did not get to launch them because it was too windy. We happened to see somebody using an inflatable windsurf board which was kind of cool! Anyway, I highly recommend the park for a...
Read moreBeware that geese make this area their home and the beach area and grass are covered in poo. The beach is fairly rocky so if you have kids, water shoes are a good idea. Bring folding chairs to sit on because the area was littered with poo. It has nice bathrooms. There is a changing area in the ladies bathroom but without any privacy or drapes. The only shower is an outdoor shower near the bathroom building.
The playground is decent for when kids need a distraction from the water. There are tables and seating. There are some trees that offer a little shade but the afternoon sun makes it really hot. I would suggest a beach umbrella for when coming here to get a...
