D&L Trail White Haven North Trailhead — Attraction in White Haven

The D & L Black Diamond Trail, Glen Summit to White Haven, 10 miles departs from this parking lot and trailhead.

This rail trail has amazing views, a beautiful lake and awesome picnicking spots where the whole family is offered a great, first, Poconos Mountain Biking experience.

There are several offerings of bike rental companies in White Haven, but our choice is Poconos Bike Rentals as they offer the cheapest kids mountain bike rentals (with shocks/gears) as well as the little tikes and tag-a-longs (no one else rents as many kids products as them.)

For the adults they have TRUE Performance, Comfort and Sport Bike Rentals. You can ride round-trip from White Haven to Glen Summit (1-2 hours). They also provide a VIP bike shuttle for this trail and the rest of the Lehigh Gorge Trail and beyond.

They have a new bike rack and tool kit with a pump too! It's right next to the water...

This five star hiking (33 miles) and biking (26 miles) park follows the Lehigh River. If you start in Whitehaven, there's a bike rental place just before the park which also offers pick up service for your return trip. (picture). This section of the park was recently upgraded. Improvements include four handicap bathrooms large enough to bring your bike inside for security. Also new is a large hand carry boat ramp area (picture). Somewhat inconvenient is the requirement to park vehicles up the hill after disembarking. For oversized vehicles there is a field at the Rt 940 park entrance and a historic site nearby. This is the northern portion of the D&L Rail Trail. There is bike rental and a small shop with snacks here. For more, there is a small shopping center with various amenities, including an ice cream shop. The trailhead parking area is currently closed due to bridge construction on I-80 so limited parking may be available at the shopping center or at the Black Diamond trailhead further down on Main St. For trail users, there is a nice new restroom facility on the southbound end of the trail.
