One of my favorite places to go, provided I can get off work early enough to stop by. Initially, I started visiting this location because of the adult community programs that they run. As a way to socialize my mom with other moms in the neighborhood, so that she doesn't eat the furniture, I started taking her to the crochet club meetings on Tuesdays after work. Recent scheduling conflicts have caused a lapse in visits, but yesterday we got back on track. Now, if I can start breaking her of jumping on the bed and tipping over her food bowl, I'll really be getting somewhere. Hopefully they have a book I can check out for that. I do wish that the library was open a little later or even on Saturdays. If so, I would visit more frequently. Right now, I use the hour my mom is meeting with all the other members of her group, to work on writing projects in the study areas. The quiet atmosphere has really helped me concentrate and get things done. The library itself has a really good selection of material and even bigger if you use the overdrive app. The secret order of librarians are quite knowledgeable and friendly to the public, when they aren't conducting their dark rituals in the back. Browser, the library cat, is quite cuddly and will visit with you while you read, or work on research papers. However, he can be a bit judgmental if he catches you reading Anne Rand out in the open. I want to point out that this library has a great youth section and seems to be the focus of their selection, which isn't a complaint. If you're trying to get your kids into reading, this is a good place. There's also a playground at the community center in the same parking lot, so if you want to set them loose while on read a book; they have you covered. Be sure to thank the local order of librarians when you stop by. They work very hard to keep everything neat and...
Read moreI had to go through the comments to see if anyone had encountered a rude staff member like I did today. I’m not the only one who had an issue with the middled aged woman with the short hair. She was VERY rude. I asked to renew a book I had checked out, and she responded in a very rude tone that she needed the book there to do it. I was not aware I did, as other libraries can do it without having the book present. I shrugged that off and and told my oldest son to go look for books while my toddler and I, said hi to browser. I told my toddler to pet him nicely (we have a cat at home, so he knew what I meant), and the cat took off before he even had a chance to pet him. Obviously the cat didn’t want to be bothered with him, and that’s okay. She screamed at my son that he was scaring the cat, even though he never even pet him. So we continue to walk to look at books and my son was louder than he should have (he’s two). My first reaction was to take him outside to the car while my oldest continued looking for books. As I’m walking him out she tells us to “shhhh” with an attitude. We were obviously already addressing the issue by taking him outside. I have never encountered such a rude librarian! She is nowhere near friendly, and she acted like my son had been throwing a tantrum the whole time we were there. We addressed it ASAP, and she still was like that. The library itself is nice, but she’s terrible. The fact that I’m not the only one who has pointed out her behavior should show the library that they need to address the issue, or make changes. There are more than enough people who are able to do the job without mistreating others. She has a terrible personality and made it a very...
Read moreVery strong Customer Service skills are exhibited by everyone there. Didn't mind answering the many questions I had. Was very willing to assist me in my needs and updates on using their computers which was the purpose of my visit. Very clean facility. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of "5" is due to the fact that one can only have "1" two hour session per day. I had quite a bit to do and was unable to get half of it done due to the allotted time. Wish they could let those that needed to stay longer stay and as the need for other customers coming in and needing computers that they would then give those that were over their 2hr session 10 minutes to end them starting with the one that had been there the longest and if they gave them any flack at that point about having to stop to have had them sign upon entry that they understood that if they caused a negative situation that they would be permanently barred from returning. Ten minutes is not a long time to wait on a computer and 10 minutes is more that enough time to end ones' session. Just food for thought. So please understand that the 3 star rating is not meant to cast any negativity on this facility or its employees. Just an explanation of my experience....
