Unfortunately, after my last review regarding the profanity used by an employee, we were retaliated against when attempting to revisit for a family movie night. The management team reassured me that the behavior displayed on a regular basis would no longer be tolerated. This is not the case. The same young man was working tonight who should absolutely be fired. We ordered icees at his consession stand with nothing but disrespectful dialogue coming from him. This child plays a role of a smarter individual, twisting his wording about, utilizing personality, but yet it does not disguise the destain he ensured we felt. When scanning my rewards card, he made it clear that "as stated" I did not need to scan it. At this point, I did not speak again. His disrespectful tone used in retaliation was threatening and out of line. This entire incident took place directly in front of a supervisor of some sort wearing a button down top. She did absolutely nothing about his behavior. Realizing we forgotten one of our children's snacks, against my better judgement, I decided to go back to the concession stand hopeful that someone else would help us. Unfortunately, after standing in line waiting while this young man had a personal conversation with the young girl working, I had to ask of they would help me. At 745 pm, I was told "you wont be getting that sweetie" and when I asked for clarification, I was then told, they close concessions "when we say so." I then asked of they sold watermelon Sour Patch and began to look on the different displays, again met with a mindblowing response of him telling another customer, he didnt know what the hell I was doing, saying he didnt know if he could yet help them. I then told him, I did not want to speak to him anymore, and get his manager or someone else. Not to my suprise, my request for a manager was met with, "do I need to call the police? Do you want me to kick you out? Do you want to leave? I responded with I'be in theater 9, they can come find me in there. Followed again with, "ill just call the police and snarky look as he made a mockery of me in front of everyone. Threatened me with law enforcement. I actually wish he did call as he would have been able to have us unnecessarily removed, but would also face criminal charges as he can still look forward upcoming in the very near future. I do not take being threatened, discriminated against, and defamation lightly at all. Unfortunately, Regal Cinema has done nothing but promote this individual, or so he claims as he stated, "Im the manager." His nametag had so many jumbled words, his position is unknown. I hope regal takes this event as serious as I do and not brush it off again. I most certainly will be following up on the severity of these threats with my...
Read moreI wanted to give 3 stars but I couldn't really.
We have been going to this Regal forever now. We go on its $5 tuesdays. Its always clean, has nice staff and is easy going. And they recently added super comfortable couch like recliners that you can recline in. VERY nice.
However we now have two problems. Since they take up room each theater inside has half the seats it used to. So when you go lets say 20 minutes before the movie, usually all the seats are taken except the ones way up front in front of the screen. So now you pretty much have to go get tickets a few hours ahead of time if you want a good seat. They make you pick seats when you pay for your tickets.
Which is my next issue. While I love the "pick your seat" thing, it also causes issues when you have a few friends with you. For example four of us tend to go together. Heres an example of what the problem is. "X] means the seat is taken: [ X X
As you can see because most people tend to pick seats away from others, it means theres not usually 4 seats open next to each other. They really need to have some sort of fix for this by telling people not to pick seats in such away that you leave random seats all over. But thats why we get tickets early. Its why I couldn't give it 3 stars.
I took away one star away because of the 3D. I've been seeing 3D there for a few years. Maybe about 6 movies so far in 3D. And they always seem dark, blurry and hard to see. You can't tell what is happening on the screen half the time. Like in Doctor Strange it was way to dark. I figured its just how 3D is.
Well I went with a friend to the Regal Crocker Park that had "IMAX 3D". My friend said it was better. He was right! There isn't as much seating but the screen is bigger. And the 3D? Mind blowing. It looks just like a regular movie. No darkness, no blur. Everything sticks out much better in 3D. We seen Rouge One. Its a few dollars more ($12 on Fandango) but well worth it. And the sound was WAY better to. Tons of bass and speakers all around.
I will NEVER go see 3D again at Regal WIlloughby. If they could fix that I'd go back to it for that. However outside of that 3D issue, I love the theater and its...
Read moreSo... overall I like it, but it's an odd setup to say the very least. There is no Box Office and there's no one seemingly checking tickets. Out of the three movies (Oppenheimer, Insidious: The Red Door and The Meg 2) I've seen there since moving into the area... no one was there to check tickets or give us our 3D glasses for The Meg 2. The box office is completely automated by several touch screen monitors to either purchase or redeem tickets. Last time, 2 of the several monitors got stuck and I couldn't redeem my tickets via QR Code... though the third one worked. Also, thankfully there was a couple guys working behind the desk and he gave us our glasses when asked... yet still never checked the tickets.
The concessions are decent... though the young people working there don't know what "light ice" means bc they will put in like 3 or 4 cubes. I have a cold sensitivity and need light ice, so it's not as cold, but that's more like "feather light". I also do like that they have a large selection for food options and not just the usual soda, water, candy, nacho, pizza and/or popcorn, and it's honestly seemingly priced fairly.
The theater seats are all comfortable and haven't seem to bother my tailbone (coccyx) as much as other seats, so that's a plus... especially with longer movies. The seats are also pretty deep and the theater is spaced out nicely so that even with the chair reclined, people can still get by without being a nuisance.
All in all, pretty good theater... I would just improve on the intake of guests a little better, because quite honestly... I wouldn't be surprised if people just walk in and go see a show without ever paying for it the way they have...
