...but based on a circular (round) floor plan as well. And what was waiting for us was a nice little museum with lovely staff! It took us a little more than an hour to tour the exhibits at this attractive location and we had the chance to learn a lot about Wilson's local history. Oliver Nestus Freeman obviously was a very creative craftsman who built his round house that today allows visitors to increase their understanding of cultural traditions and contributions made by Afro-americans to society. Read moreWhile in town as part of my quest to visit all 100 counties, I passed this house and just had to come back to check it out. I was a little tight on time, and was enjoying my chat with the staff, that I didn't get a chance to tour the museum, but I did enjoy the house and the grounds.
Parking is limited and GPS may not route you well, so plan ahead. Free but I have read there is a donation box. I didn't see it, but will donate when I come back to...
