Gateway Villas Apartments — Attraction in Winchester

Moved here recently and love it Blair been amazing and so far they've stuck to the promise. I have upgrade home that looks gorgeous and pay respectful prices and even looked at other apartments who have horrible conditions but charge same price. Only issue is never being able to park cause random people parking in spots closer to your house which I know they are working extra hard to take care of and I believe some people live here park there as most of us have two cars so understanding. It's just been super hard for me to find a spot to park without walking couple blocks, not huge deal but one day my car had to be parked all the way at the end when I'm near the leasing office and pool, however I know they are doing everything they can to help solve this situation with security, and lots of beautiful upgrades. The park is amazing looking at to where I'm almost convinced if I didn't have a child to get a dog. They take amazing care of the place and Blair is absolutely amazing and sweet. She really takes your needs serious so far. I have a mold sensitivity and so far I've been here for months without issues. Almost same price as last place I lived at but paid almost same for no washer or dryer which I have now and ran into trashy homeless apartment complex in the past that smelled of urine that I no longer have to deal with since moving here. The new management is really sticking to their word, we also didn't have a pool running and was green from not being well maintained where as it looks like management is working hard to get the pool up and running by the summer which I'm looking forward, too! I understand not having the pool right now as it's way too cold for a dip but I can't wait to enjoy my summer here at the new bbq pit and pool area. They've done amazing since new management. Also they have a wonderful beautiful gym well maintenance and clean that I go to when I find the time with new equipment where my last apartment didn't have none of these amenities plus the free coffee when office is open and the lounge area which I still have yet to enjoy the lounge but I recommend stopping in for free fresh coffee ☕. My name is Lori and I have been living at Gateway Villas (previously Sun Chase Apartments) since April 2018. When it was Sunchase it was nice but the trees and bushes were not kept cut back, the lighting was awful, the grounds were always messy and trash everywhere, the pool was closed more than open, and rent kept going up. Since the new management took over I have seen an exceptional amount of change. First, the lighting has all been changed and it feels much safer to me, the trees and bushes are trimmed and cut back to where you can see around them so no one can jump out at you, the apartment buildings outside have been painted and fixed and all the outside lighting on the building and porches have been changed to where it's much lighter. They have taken the never used golf putt area and changed it into a small dog park as well as placing grills outside so we can barbecue. Blair the assistance office manager is amazing. She has always followed through with any requests I have had and she is friendly and kind. It's nice to be able to call the office and if she's not there then there's either a call back or the request is fulfilled. Yes the rent has increased but the changes that have been made and will be made makes it worth it. I talked with Blair just today and she told me they are in the process of getting a gate to enter and exit the grounds as well as security to walk the area to help prevent those that don't belong out. At first I was not happy with the increase of rent, but the changes this company has made has made it all worth it. I feel more safe here now and will continue living here as long as I am able to. Let me set the record straight. The new management at Sun Chase is by far better than the previous management company. The Maintenance team with Lee and the other guys are amazingly quick responding and friendly. Also the location of these apartments is it's main driving force in my opinion. You got Albertsons, Mcdonalds, Family Dollar, Jack in the Box, Autozone, and many other stores nearby. Thats the positives. Here are the negatives. BUGS!!!! #1 problem with this place is the damn cockroaches and bed bugs. The apartments are so old, and there's the flood channel that runs alongside them. There is no getting rid of the roaches. You can only control them. The other problem is noisy neighbors. Like others have said these apartments are cheap, and with cheap apartments come low class people with them. White, Black, Mexican, Philipino, whatever, they're all loud. Take it as you will, but the main reason i'm moving from here is the bugs, and the fact I have to leave practically all my furniture here because they are so badly infested with bed bugs. Live here and in a few months when you wake up to a little bug crawling on you that when you kill it you'll see your blood on the tissue paper. You'll see for yourself.
