My family has been celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions at the Desert Inn Lindo Michoacán for years without issue. That is why we chose it again for our Mother’s Day dinner on May 10, expecting the same warmth, care, and hospitality we’ve always experienced. What we got instead was one of the most disrespectful and frustrating dining experiences we’ve ever had, and even worse, no one has responded to our formal complaint over a month later.
We called on May 4 to make a reservation for 13 people for May 10 at 7:00 p.m. It was confirmed. But when we arrived, the hostesses rudely told us that no reservations were being honored because it was Mother’s Day weekend and walk-ins only. That would’ve been understandable if anyone had contacted us about the change, but no one did. We were left scrambling with a large party, dressed and ready for a celebration, and told to wait 90 minutes in the 90-degree heat.
We adjusted our group to 8 and were told 40 minutes. After an hour, we were told 20 more. My sister fainted from the heat and hunger outside while we waited. When I finally found a manager, Jonathan and Carlos, they showed little concern and made no real effort to help beyond simply seating us when we were next on the list. No one checked on us afterward. Not once.
Service was painfully slow even after we sat down. It took asking three times just to get water. No one acknowledged what had happened, and my mother, the reason for the dinner, was not given a flower like every other mom entering the restaurant. After we finished eating, we waited over 20 minutes for boxes and even longer for the check.
The most disappointing part isn’t even the chaotic night. It is the silence since. We submitted a detailed message about what happened through the proper channels, and no one has responded. Not even a simple apology.
We understand restaurants are busy on holidays. That is exactly why we made a reservation nearly a week in advance. But the lack of communication, the indifference from staff and management, and the total disregard for long-time customers is inexcusable.
We won’t be returning, and I hope others think twice before trusting this location with their...
Read moreLindo has been a cherished part of my family’s tradition for years, and it holds a special place in my heart. For as long as I can remember, this was my father’s favorite restaurant, and every Sunday, we would gather as a family to enjoy a meal together. The memories I have from those visits are countless, and they are some of the fondest moments of my life.
It’s been about nine years since my last visit, but I was recently invited back, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was reminded of why Lindo has remained such an integral part of our lives. The service was impeccable – warm, welcoming, and attentive. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that every need was met, creating an atmosphere of comfort and care.
The food, as always, was outstanding. Every dish was crafted with the same attention to detail and quality that I remembered, delivering the bold and rich flavors that make Lindo a standout in Las Vegas. It’s clear that the restaurant takes immense pride in their offerings, and it shows in every bite.
What truly stood out to me, however, was the overall atmosphere. It was not just a meal, but an experience. Watching other guests and families gather and create their own memories reminded me of the many Sundays spent with my own family. It’s that sense of community and tradition that has solidified Lindo as a staple in Las Vegas dining.
Thank you, Lindo, for not only delivering a fantastic meal but for preserving the sense of togetherness that has made this place so special for me and countless others. I will always cherish the memories made here, and I look forward to creating many...
Read moreWe have dined at Lindo Michoacan restaurants in many parts of Las Vegas so in trying the original we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed. This is a smaller restaurant in an older part of town. We were greeted at the door held open by a pleasant young lady and escorted to our booth for four. The booths are on the smaller side and we were a little squished in but the gaily decorated restaurant and super friendly staff put this small deficiency out of our minds quickly. Homemade chips, a bowl of refried bean dip and a fiery hot sauce were quickly delivered to the table along with water. We were with friends we had not seen for a while so took our time ordering. The waiter graciously came back numerous times until we were ready to order. I ordered the carnitas which came with or without skin. This was a new one for me so I ordered with skin. They came with a large amount of roasted pork the was perfectly seasoned, three homemade tortillas, beans, guacamole and a tasty quacamole sauce. The skin on some of the pieces made the meat extra juicy. Excellent meal. The wife had shrimp stuffed avocado. A large avocado stuffed with shrimp, lettuce, tomato and a wonderful dressing. One of our favorites. Of course the meal always starts with a hot cup of soup. Our waiters kept our water glasses full and were attentive to all our needs without hovering. Many birthdays seem to occur with the waitstaff bursting into song at tables around us. The staff really seemed to enjoy thier jobs and it showed. Parking is ok around the restaurant. A wonderful meal. Highly...
