First time at this dog park. I appreciate that it is free to visit and that there are two areas (large dog, small dog). There are pet waste bags provided. Areas of grass and areas of wood chips. Some agility obstacles. Nice benches and picnic tables to sit at while the dogs do their thing. Now for the less awesome part, I had to google how to get there and Google directed me to a dead end residential street where I parked on the side of the road, then walked the trail to the dog park. I dont actually mind having to walk a bit of trail to get there, and I dont know if the other end of the trail has a better parking area, but this wasnt great. There isn't even a side walk so you either walk in someone's lawn or walk your dog in the street to get to the trail. Next time, I'm going to try to find a better parking area on the other side of the dog park and trail. The second small issue I had is that there are some gaps in the fencing/gates that a smaller dog could definitely go through. You should always keep a watchful eye on your dog at the dog park, but definitely if you have a small...
Read moreThis is a very simple and well created dog park. My only complaint is the unavailability of parking.
There is plenty of terrain for the dogs to explore. Most owners are pretty friendly and there is separation for small and big dogs. Donations are seemingly optional but I pay for this park as it is the only one we go to.
It is clean and there are plenty of places to hang out and watch the chaos!
Side note: If you cannot let your dog run free without having to worry about them getting into a little trouble then leave them at home. My biggest grievance with dog owners are the people who are afraid for their dog to get a little rough with other dogs and who train and coach their dogs with...
Read moreMy pup, Daphne, and I really enjoy our visits here. The people and dogs are generally very kind and friendly, and Daphne always sleeps soundly when we go home. There are some "agility training" types of things set up toward the east end of the park, but they're in rough shape. It's best to avoid the park if it's rained recently or if the snow is melting, because it turns into a real mess during those times. Although it's just off I-235, I usually don't notice the noise from the traffic too much. If you're driving here, you can park on Center St by the storage place off 63rd, or at Colby Park off School St, or in the southeast corner of the Walmart lot off 73rd, then walk down the trail...
