I would give minus 2 stars if it was possible. No hostess, no greetings, no even a box on the floor that says "wait here for help" .. you get there and get lost of how they know they have a customer. I had to walk around and ask "should I sit anywhere?" until I went for a table and a waiter just finally noticed. The tables we wanted (available ones) suddenly as per waiter was not, so .. We ended outside (patio), since the weather was nice and it was a big mistake. They don't have properly lighting .. so after dark you can't see our food, unless you are setting just by the only light they have on the patio.
The waiter did not speak English (as she told us) not a problem, because you can always point on the menu what you want (as long you don't have ask for substitutions)
Food took forever, but came a good portion BUT cold. It seemed to laying to be served for a long time. We we not able to eat because we could not see very well food.
We decided to ask for boxes and leave but no waiter to ask …. I ended going inside for it and found the waiter just sitting there on her phone … I stay there for about 15 minutes, as even the cooks noticed and I ended ask them for a box and she finally acknowledge since another 2 customers came for her. Now we I know why our food was cold
I ended let the cook (seemed to be owner) to know what was happening and he did try to correct her. I did say about the food being cold when we got it.
They charge a fee if you use credit card (it was 1.60 for us) it is legal in Iowa BUT no legal if customer uses a bank card. But no one has explained it before ordering or a note on the menu. It is will upset customers as I saw while we were there.
And would be nice to have a clean menu and for that I mean no greased pages or rest of food on it . On time for pandemic and diseases, cleaning is a must.
If you have kids or have no more than a hour to spent, I cannot recommended because the long wait. You going to be very disappointed.
We did not get any drinks, besides water and even that took about 10 minutes.
This is our 2nd visit since 3 months, we would believe it would have issues but not the same or even worst. Not on our first list of places to eat after the experience. We ended boxing the food but I haven't eat it.
Hope they get better, meanwhile be prepared....
Read moreMy husband and I really enjoyed this place. It’s in our neighborhood and we’ve been wanting to try it for a while. So, tonight we finally went here for dinner. I was nervous about trying it because several reviews mentioned getting bad service. On the contrary, we got excellent service and thought the food was really good.
The young man who waited on us was super friendly and charismatic, not qualities you tend to see in waitstaff these days. He joked around with my husband and was very attentive. I wish we had gotten his name because he was really great. I got the red enchiladas with chicken and my husband got the Texas burritos with steak and chicken. I really liked the enchiladas and they had a lot of flavor. The rice and beans were typical. They were ok but there wasn’t anything special about them. My husband liked the chicken better than the steak because he thought the steak was a little dry. They gave us a ton of food. Rice, beans and a salad came with my dish. Rice and a salad also came with my husband’s dish. We thought the salad was unnecessary and would maybe ask them not to include it next time. We didn’t really eat our salads so it seemed kind of wasteful. We could have easily split one of our dishes and may do that next time. We got really full on the chips and salsa. Their salsa was excellent, by the way. It was a little spicy at first, but then the heat kept building up the more we ate it.
The prices were very reasonable and you definitely get your money’s worth. I love it when I can bring leftovers home to have it for lunch the next day. We did have about a half hour wait for our food but it was worth it. We really appreciated the great service we got. Our waiter was enthusiastic about doing his job and told us several times that it was a pleasure to serve us. Good service goes a long way for us. We’ll...
Read moreMojitos has good tasting food. No argument there. I’m rating them a one star because they could use A LOT of organization. We pre-ordered our meal so pickup would be as easy as possible. I arrived at the time of my pickup order (6pm) and it was a struggle from there. Mojitos having a host/hostess desk would go a long way. Adding 1 employee would’ve potentially helped my experience. People picking up to go orders and people just waiting to be seated was a complete cluster. I had to force read my order to make sure someone on staff gave me some sort of acknowledgement. At some point they even took my phone to the kitchen to show my order (I assume to the cooks). After an hour of waiting, I receive some food but all of the food was wrong. Not one item we ordered was in my hand even after I read out the order to confirm with the elderly man. It was a horrible experience and I’m still trying to understand how a pre-ordered meal would have me stay at the restaurant for over an hour. I was there from 6pm to 7:15pm and no one offered free drinks or anything to try and make up for my very long wait time. Very poor experience and very low tier...
