The first two times I went, service was exceptional and my nails were beautiful!
Two days ago, I went in for a manicure and they were crazy busy. I didn't mind waiting. The tech got to my turn and things went downhill quickly. I asked for a dip French manicure, with clear base and white tip. He was very rough in the filing. When he was done I couldn't believe what I was looking at! It looked like small bubbles or debris under all of the clear parts. Several of them were filed uneven shapes, and all the white tips were uneven. He knew it was bad cuz he asked several times in broken English if I was happy. I wasn't but left and went home because I am inexperienced with manicures and thought perhaps my expectations were too high. I consulted my mom and friend who get a lot of manicures and they reassured me that what I received was unacceptable.
I tried to call 4x over the next hour and their phones went right to a full voicemail box. So I went in. (While dealing with all this, others commented about phones being offline and the front desk said "they've been ringing just fine") I asked to speak to a manager and the front desk staff (who always looks super angry) asked what was wrong. I showed her and told her I was unhappy with my service. She asked me to sit and wait because they were packed, very busy. I didn't mind that.
Another lady comes over after about 10+mins and asks to see what was wrong. I show her and she said she'll help me soon. When I was finally seated, I wasn't asked to wash my hands first like I normally am. She started by filing my dip down (and hitting my skin with the drill several times. I almost yelled "OW!") and reapplying a top coat to see if that would fix it. It didn't work. She didn't listen when I told her I wanted the dip redone. So she offered to just put a gel manicure over the top since the dip was already applied and would be strong. I asked if that would work okay because I do a LOT of dishes everyday. She said it would be fine. I selected a color and when she applied it to one nail to test it, I realized it was see through sparkly, so the dip underneath would show through. I told her that I would choose something else and she was just like, "I'll put on another coat don't worry!" and she proceeded to glop some more on.
In the process of her doing coats of gel polish, she got up more than 6 times because she was running the appointment scheduling. Says not one word to me each time she got up just walks away. Towards the end, she cut all my cuticles and made me bleed 3 times! In her filing my nails she was very rough on the sides of my skin. She was not at all focused on what she was doing the whole time, too busy worrying about her scheduling. I'm not going back. They did "fix" it for free.
Photos attached: purple with gold glitter is the one manicure I LOVED. White French manicure is the train wreck. Sparkly greenish is what she put over it.
Is it better than it was? Yes. Am I happy with any of the...
Read moreI went to 4 Seasons one week ago on 3/12 to get an acrylic fill and gel polish before our family vacation. I had seen good reviews and recommendations and the salon I had been going to was booked up and I was unable to get in before our trip so I decided to try this salon out. Upon arriving I was greeted pleasantly and sent back to the sink to wash my hands, I was seated at a manicure station immediately after which was nice. I was never given a name, but the tech started filing the old polish off and prepping for my fill and was a little slower than I’m used to but seemed to be doing an decent job. After getting the fresh acrylic applied, she left and another tech came to take over- while wearing the same gloves he was wearing while working on the client next to me- who he left sitting without explanation. She looked as confused as I. He started filing and buffing my nails down as expected, but perhaps a bit too much as the tips became thin and sharp. After he was about halfway done filing he went back to the girl next to me- in the same gloves- applied her cuticle oil and sent her on her way, coming back to me- again, same gloves. About 10 minutes later (and more filing) he was ready to polish. For some reason he applied polish to two nails at a time then would cure and polish two fingers on the other hand, switching back and forth and then each thumb individually. While I was curing for the 3rd or 4th time he was texting-in the same gloves. The top coat got all around my cuticles so of course burned while curing. Upon completion there was polish on my cuticles and edges of my nails were sharp but I had already been there for over an hour and had another appointment to get to. I left for vacation the following morning (Sunday) and Monday morning I already had one finger with chipped polish. By Thursday, a second finger with chipped polish. I have NEVER had gel polish chip so quickly. I am a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Iowa and am extremely familiar with acrylics, gel polish and both of their processes as well as the state law regarding cleanliness and hygiene between clients. Maybe it was just an off day for the techs, maybe it was just too busy, or maybe I just had bad luck with the techs I had. The photos they’ve posted are absolutely beautiful, but I definitely don’t believe...
Read moreSo before I spill the tea, I'll tell you what was good. Note, this is my first time here. They were very friendly. You can see and book services online and select your stylist. The actual place itself is very clean and nicely put together. I love the new pedicure bowls, as it's more sanitary. However, it made the water cold and I like mine very hot. I had made an appointment, upon arrival, I had to wait almost half an hour. Once my pedicure started, I thought things were going to be great even though I had to wait. The pedicure was fabulous! She did everything perfectly. During the massage, this older gentleman decides he's going do my nails. I completely understand why this is done to save time as they were busy. In my personal opinion, I do not like this. I can't relax. I have to twist and turn. At the very least, wait until the massage is over. I also feel that the stylist doing my pedicure, couldn't finish properly because he was doing my nails. She wasn't able to remove all the wax or help with my shoes as I get regular polish, just like they had me pay before he painted so they don't smudge. Note; bring cash for the tip, there is no option for a credit card tip. The manicure was awful. My nails are already short. He asked me if I wanted them cut down, then tried to file them way too much after I told him not to. I still have cuticles that should have been removed on every finger. The nail polish was very old and thick, so therefore it did not go on smoothly or evenly. It took so long to dry. No hand massage. No one came over to help me with my shoes, so I did it myself and also then wiped the excess wax off of myself and my clothing that it had gotten on. During this process, I messed up three of my nails. Which truthfully is pretty normal for me, which is why I get a very light color on my nails. Overall, not the best experience. I would definitely go back for the pedicure, try to find a time that they're...
