Central Winds Park is such a gem in Oviedo! 🌳 This place has a little bit of everything — big playgrounds, wide open fields, basketball courts, volleyball, and plenty of shaded areas under the trees. Perfect for families, sports, or just hanging out on a nice day.
The playground is a highlight for kids. It’s tall with multiple levels, slides, climbing areas, and swings. My son loved it — the big spiral slide and the swings especially. The equipment shows some wear in spots, but it’s still safe, sturdy, and fun. The rubberized ground around the play area adds a nice safety touch too.
The park itself is super spacious and clean, with lots of room to run, picnic, or set up for sports. There’s always people here but it never feels overcrowded. Parking is easy, and the whole space feels safe and well maintained.
If you’re local to Oviedo or nearby, this is one of the best parks to bring kids, get active, or just enjoy some Florida sun. Definitely a go-to...
Read moreA large and well-designed Sports Park and playground in Winter Springs. There's your standard 4-field baseball complex, with restrooms, concession booth, water fountain and all that in the middle of them, and covered bleachers for the fans. There are a few full size soccer fields and some half size ones for younger kids, some open fields where people fly RC planes and drones, a large dog park, and way in the back a fishing pier on Lake Jesup. It also has two good covered playgrounds, one small one between the baseball fields and largest soccer field, and another one down in the back towards the lake with huge slides. In the back playground area there is also another medium sized field, a large swing set, a basketball court and a sand volleyball court. The bike trail comes right past it and anyone on the trail can access the park from many entrances. Finally, there's also ample parking and a grass amphitheater where they do many...
Read moreThis park has a beautiful playground, many ball fields, a beach volleyball court, and a short nature trail that follows the south side of Lake Jesup. It's also one of my favorite places to look for birds and other wildlife in Seminole County. During September and October, lots of warblers, tanagers, vireos and other birds migrate through, and often they can be seen in this park in pretty large numbers. In fact, I've logged over 150 species of birds in this park alone.
The nature trail can be pretty buggy, so I'd bring some bug spray. There is a restroom and a drinking fountain, but the water doesn't taste very good. All in all, this is one of my favorite parks to visit in...
