Castle Tucker in Wiscasset is an 1807 Regency-style mansion perched on a hill with sweeping views of the Sheepscot River. Once the home of a prosperous shipping family, it was later transformed into a Victorian showpiece. Today, it stands as a beautifully preserved glimpse into 19th-century life.

One of the most interesting houses we have visited on this trip. Many thanks to Joel for a fascinating tour. What a gem this is - wish I could have met ‘our’ Jenny.

Seriously love this place inside and out. It's beautiful history. They take really good care of this building.

Great guided tour. Well presented by an experienced docent. The best part about this particular property is that all original furnishings and decor are present and in original places. The wallpaper though perhaps not too complimentary to the furnishings, is original for the times (Victorian).

To keep up with said times, the Tuckers added a porticulis strangly but improperly constructed is interesting in itself in that it was converted to Japanese decor using paper boxes to hide the water damage to the original paneling. Now...
