August 6, 2022 . . . Update review rating! Perfect Score / 5 stars! Thank you chef for the new menu, featured a wonderfuly delicious Fra Diavolo & Humus appetizer! Nick’s superb as our server, AGAIN! Our Maryland guest loved her dining experience as the sun set over the Sheepscot River! *Also added few more photos* June 20, 2021 - For a great (seafood) dinner, try this Wiscasset restaurant in a quaint New England town along the Sheepscot River . . . I rate this as a 4.99 experience! ( with 1 small suggestion) Chef & owner Ed Colburn renovated the old Le Garage restaurant, and opened his new Water Street Kitchen & Bar Restaurant in 2019. Our 1st time at the Water Street Restaurant, my wife and I loved the food & the sunset views along the water! ( Father’s Day) We strolled through town, looking at the historic buildings while waiting for our dinner reservations. I recommend visitors enjoy the sites in Wiscasset, then pick one of several eating establishments. Chef Colburn brings over a decade of experience in cooking Mediterranean Cuisine to Wiscasset. The appetizers & entrees utilize fresh herbs & spices, local farm fresh veggies ( try the whole roasted cauliflower appetizer), and in season local fruits. As we watched the sun set over the River, my wife and I shared a delicious Greek Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, topped with feta cheese . . . while I sipped one of Maine’s hard apple ciders. My wife spoke highly of her Merlot, while nibbling the hard crusted garlic bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil. The entrees seemed to favor seafood & pasta combinations, but there were a few “turf” selections for land lovers ( Hanger Steak, Chicken Marsala, Le Garage Burger, and Grilled Pork Chop). Hey, when in Rome ! My wife was thrilled with her Mussels Arrabiata ( refers to a tomato based sauce with some chili pepper heat) over pasta! Then I ordered Cioppino ( Seafood stew) which includes mussels, shrimp, haddock, in lobster brodo ( broth in Italian). . . “Tip my hat” to the chef for adding lobster meat . . . FANTASTIC! We couldn’t resist the fresh baked desserts from an outside bakery, we boxed up the blueberry cheesecake & triple Belgian chocolate mousse. (2 hours later, enjoyed those delicious treats! Mediterranean Cuisine offers: Culinary delights from Greece, Turkey, Israel, Italy, Egypt, Spain, etc. Awesome spices & herbs such as . . . Basil, bay leaf, cloves, coriander, fennel, garlic, paprika, rosemary, saffron, tarragon, thyme, turmeric, oregano, parsley, sage, cumin, black pepper, etc. We must include olives, and olive oil and Hummus ( chick peas) which add loads of healthy dietary benefits! In conclusion, I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for both it’s high quality of food & service (thanks Nick), plus the ambiance of riverside views! ( old review) 1 Suggestion for a perfect score. . . Hummus in some form would complete the Mediterranean culinary experience !

The lounge area, complete with comfortable couches that invite you to unwind and enjoy the ambiance creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The laid-back atmosphere encourages conversations to flow freely, making it a great place to catch up with friends or simply relax after a long day. With their mouthwatering array of meals, stunning water views, and impeccable chef service, this place has won my heart. It has become a cherished tradition for me and my friend to indulge in their delectable chicken wings from the bar menu and enjoy the inviting atmosphere. If you find yourself in Wiscasset, make sure to visit Water Street Kitchen and Bar - your taste buds will thank you, and you'll be drawn back time and time again.

We had a wonderful meal here, kids and all. We booked without seeing but it was an elegant, but still casual, break from the dockside restaurants that seem to be just about everywhere (which are wonderful, but you do need some variety....). The staff was very attentive and friendly. There was a good drink selection, including several local brews. And the food was unbelieveable. People at our table ordered lobster pasta, pasta marinara (with San Marzano's), steak frites and cacio de pepe. Everything got shared and passed around, it was that good. The decor was interesting and the views are awesome.

Although average, we have missed the previous restaurant “Le Garage” which used to exist here. Finally got a chance to check it out the day after Christmas. In a nutshell - fabulous! Much effort was spent on major remodeling. Result - unique, classy, unconfined and comfortable - and of course with the beautiful full waterfront view of the Sheepscot River and the Route 1 bridge.

Our dinner was a gastronomic sheer delight. Friends were totally impressed with the raw Maine oysters. The scallops were seared to perfection locking in an unforgettable taste. My ceviche was a perfect raw cooked (citrus juice) yielding a superb flavor to the chopped scallops et al. It made me feel like I was back enjoying the same in Acapulco! Best of all (to my personal liking) was my ever longed for Key Lime pie. The pie lady from nearby Westport Island supplies this exquisite pie. My dearly loved and missed grandmother who lived in Key Largo, made this quintessential pie which just about tied this wonderful creation for the blue ribbon. It was a perfect top off after the perfect dinner complimented by some delightful espresso. Excellent and gracious service from Kennedy. Wishing this super first class eatery great success for many...

Being locals we have wanted to visit since they opened. Tonight we gave it a shot at the height of the dinner rush. When we arrived we were told they were busy, but they got us right in. We were expecting to wait some time for service, knowing they were busy but! We were brought drinks right away. The lovely woman who seated us (presumably the hostess but represented as much more) gave me drink recommendations. As someone who loves cocktails I am always excited to try something new. She recommended the Porn Star. A sweet, in all the right ways martini, chased by a savory champagne. This was THE BEST drink I have had in a long time. Then were the apps, simply perfect. Having a small obsession with mussels, I was not disappointed. They were perfect, better than most I’ve ever had. My husband got the Steak Frites. Now this one is tricky as he only eats his steak VERY well done. The bane of all chefs in our experience. It came out looking promising. The fries were golden yellow sprinkled with awesomeness. But, the steak… well…it was PERFECT! I could go on but I won’t. We will be back asap for porn star fantasticness, and can’t wait to try everything else! Be there. Or be square. -Batman’s wife,...
