It started off with a hitch- the directions sent us to the wrong building, in the pouring rain (with a large group with majority children) wasn’t so fun unloading and loading… but thankfully the hosts were quick to respond. It was then easy enough to find correct place. Then, difficult to get in, even though seven minutes early- the doors literally weren’t unlocked even though they clearly knew we had arrived. Another thing which is a HUGE bummer is the whirlpool in room is partially broken and the cold water isn’t working - so steaming hot it shall be… thank goodness there is an ice maker to help cool it down. Just more of a hassle. Another thing- PARKING- an absolute NIGHTMARE!!! From people parking trucks with boats and taking 7 spots to trailers etc., there is literally no open spots and have to park three lots away up the hill. Definitely really a downfall. So for all the inconveniences- plus you’d have to pay extra for wristbands to play at the resorts waterpark…. Outrageous! I’m all for this great room- but for two nights- and fully aware of parking nightmare, broken hot tub, and 4 children- it would be nice if wristbands were included. Or cheaper. $50 is ridiculous for the size of it considering we spent $35 for Noah’s Ark. but kids like to come back where you stay to continue swimming. So all in all- AMAZING villa… for a home base and sleeping 2 two nights- but looking back; we would never had spent just shy of $2k for the villa knowing the huge inconveniences plus the added fee with the wristbands and for our family would be $$250 plus my parents so $350.Not worth the price now.
Otherwise room is great. Dan and Danie were super easy to get a hold of (The hosts) and amazingly accommodating. I cannot doc the rating due to some of Chula Vista’s downfalls, but overall experience with the stay and The Villa...
Read moreIt was a decent stay, I went with my girlfriends family on a trip to the dells, I slept on an air mattress because I was worried about getting bed bug bites on my body but really nice rooms I sat in the jacuzzi for an hour and didn’t see any hair coming out the jets or anything it was a good condo to stay in for a couple of nights, every employee I encountered at Chula Vista was very nice and respectful, I went to the water park in Chula Vista also and that was really fun, the funnel slide was really fun but the line was so long that we only got to go down it 4 times and the roller coaster water slide was rusted and old looking but was a scary and fun ride because I’ve never been on a roller coaster waterslide. Also one more thing we got food from the water park restaurant and it costed us $21 dollars to get a whole pizza and the mozzarella sticks we got were 6 dollars when we only got 3 of them in the container. I would recommend people to come and stay here at least once if they haven’t tried it and if you have a bad experience at the resort then leave a bad review but for me I would give it a 3 star but the water park was really fun so I bumped it up to a 4/5. This resort is not better than The Wilderness though. One more note, me and a couple other people were out of the condo room towards midnight and the security working here didn’t tell us we needed to return to the room because we were just sitting on one of the couches near the lobby, they would just walk past us and leave us alone which was...
Read moreWe had a 3 bedroom/3 bath suite for our group of 8 for a bachelorette party. I think we were all satisfied with the space and the amount of room we had and we liked the jacuzzi. And it seemed very clean.
However, there were a couple things we really were disappointed with: the kitchen was not stocked well with utensils, like a scissors. Also, the microwave in the kitchen did not work...it would run but it didn't heat anything even a little bit. The biggest issue I had was the pillows. WORST pillows I've ever slept on in my life. The first night I struggled to fall asleep for hours because it was like my pillow case was half filled with cotton balls. It was literally an old, lumpy pillow. I had a body pillow in my car that I brought up for the second night and slept much better. And the towels and bedding were mediocre, at best so I think it's funny that they think people want to buy their linens and pillows. 🤦♀️ I've been to Microtels with better bedding and pillows. There was not extra blankets or pillows so thankfully nobody had to sleep on the sofa beds because we would have had to go down to the front desk in a different building to get pillows for them. Lastly, the couple times we called the front desk with questions, the man who answered was very rude. There was not staff at the desk in the lobby of the building we were in. We didn't have time to swim unfortunately so I don't know how the...
