Read moreWe visited the park on a pleasant Sunday morning for a group picnic. Ours was a big group so we reserved the grove in advance and obtained required permissions. We also noticed other groups having picnic in the nearby groves on the same day. The park rangers do multiple rounds throughout the day so it is safe and maintained well. The park is neat and clean and spread in a large area. There are multiple amenities including play area, courts, pavilion, grill stations / barbecue area, picnic benches and restrooms. So far, we have played music during our picnics in all the parks we have been to in New Jersey but strangely and to our surprise the park rangers visited our grove when we started in the morning and did not allow us to play any music or set up the speakers while the other smaller groups having picnic in the other groves were playing music. Since ours was a big group and the picnic was from morning to evening, it was very difficult to make any sort of announcements when the food was ready or which counter to go for what purpose or even to organize games. We could not execute everything smoothly because of this restriction. I hope the organizers keep this in mind for the next...
Read moreI was planning on doing my kids birthday party here so they can have fun at the playground and see some animals, but instead when we visited we were just saddened. The animals are obviously not take care of properly as many of them have bald spots; the turkeys are enclosed in a tiny space and for such big birds they need more room to run around; there was no sign of food or water containers for them. But the saddest part was the horse. Another visitor advised us he was blind and had been there for many many years. Poor thing has been wearing the headcollar/halter for so long you can see the wear on his fur and skin of where the straps lay. He also seems to have a sort of old injury on his right hind leg where it looks like a bone is sticking out making him waddle when he walks. There shouldn't be any animals if they cannot be taken care of the right way. Its not just about giving them food and water at scheduled times each day, its about giving them...
