For years when my children were young we walked to the falls every May. They loved seeing the water fall and playing in the small stream. It is a very short walk on a (now) paved road. While it is uphill, it is not that steep. Parking can sometimes be a tough to find and you are supposed to have an adventure pass, but I've not seen anyone get a ticket (I've always had one).
