One of the best gun ranges that you can still have freedom to go-to and just drive right up to and park, pull out your firearm and shoot for free. Many pre determined stations that are not marked but obviously a place used as a station by the amount of gun riddled offer spread about. Each space is unique in its landscape. Some places have long alley ways to set up your own targets at your own discretion. You can bring a home built contraption or just bring cans and set them up randomly , you can feel like a cowboy shooting a row if cans down or a pro with a serious manufactured target system .. you can bring that electronic device that has pissed you off so much you must shoot and kill it. Surprisingly the amount of trash used for targeting is not piled up. People bring stuff to shoot and if it's big, they take whatever is left out with them. It's a natural area with trees just like a hiking trail might be. You can drive downa dirt road in your 4x4 or your family sedan and choose a spot not being used and claim it for a short time or pull over set up the ez up cover and day camp all day. I don't see that anyone has open fires or bbq there but you can check the rules at the website. In fact the website has a indicator of it is open to use as a gun range or not that day. I imagine that during storms or in event of wild fires it might be closed, Everytime I have been there I have never seen a ranger or any kind of authority patrolling. The people that you see drive by are all so nice although you know everyone has a gun so your courteous manors are always in your best interest. Sincd back in the day a place similar at pearbloson hwy closed I thought it was the end of these types of free ranges. Evidently this is one of. Many places in san bernadino allows citizens to use for free at your own discretion. Amazing place check won't be...
