We wanted a little escape from the city, so we headed out to Oak Glen — and honestly, we were pleasantly surprised by how much there is to do! You can go apple picking, grab some BBQ, explore a beautiful nature preserve trail, and hang out at the Oak Tree Mountain area, which is where we found Common Ground Public House.
It’s more than just a restaurant — it’s like a mini city you can walk around! They have tons of cute vendors, a bakery that smells amazing (see pics for treats), and even axe throwing on weekends if you’re feeling adventurous.
We grabbed food here and had the best pizza ever — the Hot Honey Pepperoni. It was my first time trying it and I’m officially obsessed. 🔥🍯 They also have a full bar and beers on tap. As an IPA lover, I was excited they had three different IPAs to choose from — such a win!
There’s indoor and outdoor seating depending on your vibe. And one of the best parts about stopping here was building up the courage to finally try the mountain slide! 🎢 You can sit at the viewing area to watch people fly down or walk over after you eat.
It’s actually the longest mountain slide in America, and it was SO much fun! I even made a TikTok of my journey down and it went viral 🫶🏻 check it out at @guppy.jpg!
Highly recommend spending a whole afternoon here — it’s the perfect mix of great food, drinks, fun activities, and...
Read moreWe went from LA to Oak Glen last weekend to go apple picking and found ourselves hungry and exhausted from the sun ready for a quick bite at this restaurant. My friend and I were at the bar waiting to order just having a good time (no drinks cause no-one took our order) until the rest of the crew arrived and so we sat down and a server took our order. We are a happy bunch and were giggling and laughing, the server arrived with our micheladas and announced that this will be the only drink they serve me because my eyes are small and I appear drunk. Well we weren’t. The manager came just to confirm that this is true. We proceeded to wait for our food and boy we should have left. Incredibly expensive but all served on paper plates. The tacos were so dry we couldn’t eat them and on top of that there was Parm cheese on our tacos. When the General Manager came and we asked if that’s parm his answer was: I don’t know I’m not the chef. He did comp our entire meal- but this was the only good thing about this experience....
Read moreArrived long before the rush and ppl arriving later sitting outside received their orders first. 1 plate was delivered to my table while my family waited for the rest to trickle in. By the time my grandbabys nuggets arrived my tacos were so cold and stale. I kept asking different ladies there about my order and kept saying 10min. I ordered spirits and the bartender Denise was more interested in entertaining the men at her bar than keeping up with her orders. I had to get up from my table and request them. Somehow she produced them with minutes while I had already waited for an hour. Plus clearly she had already had a few drinks herself. After my family finally got the rest of our order, the newly arrived family at the next table ordered their starters and received them within minutes. Sadly, I would never return there regardless of how tasty the food was. Service to the custmor...
