Knock off Disney with a Sprinkle of the magic. Very important to go and read the bounty of negative reviews for this place before setting yourself or your children up for a bad or unsafe day here.
The lead up to Vinwonders is very similar to that of Disney or Universal parks, think large buildings with false artistic facades, but thanks to the magic of COVID, these are all empty and where is is clear there should be bustling shopping villages there is nothing but emptiness.
Arrive at the gates to find a quick entry process due to lack of people and straight in to start exploring.
The park itself is a rip off magic kingdom, complete with castle and different lands of similar names. There are a few decent rides dotted around the place but for adults who enjoy proper rides they aren't overly exciting. Went on a few goodies and bypassed a good handful as their age is very evident. It's obvious these are old and second hand rides and this does give the immediate impression that maintenance isn't the best (could be a false impression of course but first impressions do count for a lot.) Queues are small so you can ride the few good rides / coasters many times if you like.
While queue areas are set up for a lot of people queue times were less than 5 minutes mostly. These areas were very hot and desperately need fans to cool guests down.
The views from the ferris wheel are good and it is interesting to see the old park next door in its state of abandon and disrepair.
The aquarium is nice and is much cooler as it is indoors so we spent a lot of time in here for comfort more than interest. It's a decent aquarium compared to ones you would pay for individually SeaLife / Kelly Tarltons etc.
The theme park bit I would rate 4/5. It was an enjoyable value for money rip off Disney that is just missing a mouse. For children it would be amazing, especially as no queue time so easy to keep kids entertained if they can handle the heat.
It went seriously downhill in the water park area.
Walking around this place is like a maze, no physical maps and no signs to speak of around the slide areas, and the English is not good enough for the many many staff to help much.
Good selection of slides, the lazy river is okay but very shallow compared to others so more aimed at children, and the wave pool is the same, the waves aren't spectacular.
Upon going to get on a slide, we were weighed (in front of everyone - no privacy here) and half the party was turned away. For some unknown reason there is a 100kg weight limit on all slides bar two. We have visited water parks all over the world and never ever had this weighing happen or been turned away. Okay, I'll be nice and still rate the park 3 stars / 5. The day wasn't totally ruined by this and we could still have a nice enough time.
My brother who was under the weight limit went on two slides, the second of which friction burned his entire back and left him with several very large hand sized red burned areas. He doesn't want the photo sharing on a public forum but it should be made public that there are serious safety concerns here. This lad is a string bean, tall and fit, so there is no excuse for this occurring other than lack of proper care and maintenance. Such strict weight and height rules which clearly aren't keeping punters safe. Again we have been to water parks across the globe and this has never ever happened. When a life guard saw it he pulled an 'ouch' face and just laughed.
There is first aid in the park but we didn't interact with any staff whose English was good enough to even bother trying to get a burns gel or anything.
He spent 20 minutes cooling his new burn in the wave pool for pain relief and we left. With a very sour taste in our mouth.
2/5. I wouldnt recommend the park. It's a very average knock off of Disney's Magic Kingdom with a few good parts. The water park is a hazard and I would strongly recommend at the very least wearing a rash shirt on slides to prevent similar injuries to those sustained...
Read moreSadly not all the rides were open. Those that were open were fun though.
Staff at the waterpark can be quite annoying, they try to force you to go on the slides they want instead of where you want to go. They micromanage the access to everything and I understand they have to observe safety, however this is too much. I have been going to waterparks from before most of the staff was born, I know hot to get on and an inflatable.
Also, what's with the nonsense of weighing people before going down a slide? I went to waterparks all over the world, Europe, USA, UAE for over 40 years, the inflatable rings are the same size in any waterpark you go in the world and nowhere are people asked to weigh before they can go down a slide. If you want to attract international tourists, I suggest you turn off the scales or build stronger structures.
Secondly, during our visit they were overwhelmingly annoying interrupting every thing we were doing or not doing like we were sitting on a bench minding our business and they would tell us to go here or there go on the rides etc. Being so invasive may be suitable for Vietnamese culture, but for western culture is incredibly irritating to feel constantly watched by staff.
Thirdly, I did not say I had problem accessing the water slides myself, I was able to go on those that were open because I am within the height and weight parameters, however, it's again highly annoying and invasive that you do ask people to weigh. I saw several people including Vietnamese feeling uncomfortable, and others may not have the courage to give you feedback but I do.
So to reiterate I would recommend that your staff - specifically at the waterpark - is properly trained not just in health and safety but also being informed that micromanaging visitors is equal to making them feel uncomfortable and unlikely to return.
Secondly if you want to be a place attracting international tourists then be aware of this non-sense about asking people to weigh. Waterparks in other countries where the average weight is double that of Vietnam do not have weighing requirements and they are perfectly safe, so I fail to understand why would you need one yourselves besides the fact that after living in Vietnam I know your country is obsessed with weight and knowing...
Read moreVinwonders theme park is a fantastic place to spend a day in phu quoc. The place gives you the French n venice vibes . The theme park is divided into 3 sections namely Adventure World, Typhoon World and the aquarium.
Adventure World has around 10 games that are both fund and a little scary at the same time. The roller coaster ride (wrath of Zeus) is especially thrilling ,but unfortunately it was under maintenance during our visit.we particularly loved eagle warrior and skate rides.
The next section , typhoon World , features about 30 activities (including children section). While some of them are average , a few are really enjoyable.Tje Hawaiian drop, Hidden sea Snake,Fiery dragons, mighty drop and insanity drops were fantastic ! However the main downside is that you have to climb alot of steps, which can be tiring even before approaching the starting points of these rides. Another annoying thing is that they check your weight before each ride (every time too) and have strict weight restrictions. Even after paying hefty entry fee , we couldn't enjoy the wrath of Zeus (maintenance) also access to some rides were denied due to these restrictions .The staff's are really nice , after completing each ride they will clapp for you and smile just to make you feel energetic. The theme park has plenty of toilets/restrooms ,food stalls to grab quick snacks . The locker is on paid basis they charge 150000VND for one l locker ,they will repay you with 50000VND once you return the locker key .The shower is free for all the guests.
The aquarium at VinWonders, shaped like a giant tortoise, is a true underwater paradise! From adorable penguins to playful Nemo fish, graceful rays, and even small sharks, every corner is magical. 🐠 Kudos to vinwonders for creating such a beautiful aquarium. Again the mermaid show was called off without any prior notice which makes you angry.
But as the time passes All the crowd gathers near the centre of the arena .yes it's for the Disney show .The Disney-themed show at VinWonders was absolutely fantastic — full of energy, colors, and amazing performances! We truly respect Vietnamese culture and traditions, but it would be great if the management could also arrange seperate shows in English and Vietnamese ,as not everyone understands Vietnamese.
The vinwonders theme park has free buses from popular places of you have the entry ticket so utilise it in order to reach the destination. The outside food is not allowed in this theme park. Overall it's a wonderful experience but there is alot of room for...
