My husband was doing the research for our hotel stay for a week in BA and he switched toPalladio at the last minute from another one roughly 7 to 8 blocks further south also on Av Callao due to a slightly better location where Palladio is.
The hotel facilites (lobby, restaurant, bar and our room) are immaculate. All the staff are super friendly, helpful and professional. We arrived just before noon after 25+ hours of traveling with 2 connections from Vancouver, Canada and was pleasantly greeted by our bright, spacious, clean and modern suite (a large room with a king bed and spacious seating area). Although our balcony / room is on the back side of the hotel, it is quiet and quaint with a neighbourhood view. We look down to a lovely courtyard of the building next door. There are 2 pairs of ample closets (a hanging closet and a closet with drawers) for him and her (or him and him in our case) separated by a coffee bar / mini fridge in the middle. The bathroom has dual sinks and a separate shower from the tub. I also like how the toilet / bidet is separated by a partition from the sinks and shower.
Our room package included a daily breakfast in the restaurant. It’s a buffet setup but you can also order a few specialty items off the menu. It was a rather opulent buffet for the boutique hotel. The cold table had a variety of oatmeals/cereals/yogurts, fruits, cold cuts, cheese and smoked salmon. The hot table offered scrambled egg, bacon, chorizo, croque monsieur, breakfast potatoes, French toasts. There were also a good variety of bakery items including toasts, medialunas, the essential alfajores, and many other dessert bits. Although you are serviced poured coffee and orange juice at your table, there is an also a coffee machine offering about 8-10 specialty coffee and hot beverage items. The juice cart also has half a dozen different juices to choose from. ‘
The hotel is very centrally located at the southern end of Recoleta. Most destinations are with 20 minutes to 60 minutes on foot depending on your propensity of adventuring on foot. Taxi rides are inexpensive compared to N American rates and the Subte (subway) reaches a vast area of BA and the closest station to the hotel is just a block away. We walked everywhere: 20 minutes to the heart of Recoleta (the cemetery), 30 minutes to Plaza de Mayo, 45 minutes to Palermo and about 60 minutes to Puerto Madero. San Telmo is about 60 minutes on foot but we opted to take a taxi (called by the front desk for us) that morning.
The hotel billed us in ARS so it was great for us after converting to CAD due to the prevalent exchange rate.
I would stay at the Palladio again...
Read moreIf you are searching for the right hotel in central Buenes Aires, look no further than the Palladio hotel. Do not be put off by the outside facade of the hotel which is rather unprepossessing. Once you step through the doors, it is anything but that. The reception is instantly warm and fully attentive to all your needs. Our room was on the 12th floor and had a lovely view of the park across the street where, lucky us, the stunning jacaranda trees were in full bloom there. The hotel thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. There were nice bathrobe waiting for us in the bathroom. The bathroom was also conveniently separated into two rooms: one for the toilet/tub and the other for the shower, vanity which made it easy for two people to be in the bathroom at the same time. No little detail was overlooked. I like to use a pouf when I take a shower and lo and behold, there was a pouf for the shower. The room itself is very spacious with a desk area, a (in our case) kind size bed and then a convenient sitting area. there were three huge closets that also had nice lighting. In fact, the whole room had excellent lighting. It was spotlessly cleaned and tidied up each day. Did I mention the great buffet breakfast? Lots of fresh fruit and charcuterie stuff (different cheeses and cold cuts), scrambled eggs & bacon, beautiful breads, pastries and croissants, and an attentive waiter who brings lovely fresh coffee. Do not also miss out on their dining room for dinner either. The dinner menu is exquisite and I for sure sent my complements to the chef because it far exceeded my expectations for a hotel restaurant. This hotel is located in the heart of the ricotta and so abundantly convenient for stepping out of the hotel and strolling around all the vastly interesting streets that await you. It is a very walkable location. So in summary, this hotel far exceeded my expectations and I would most happily stay here again. I also think it is excellent value for...
Read moreI couldn't have asked for a better experience! I arrived at the hotel at about 11 am due to taking the red-eye from the US. Even trough normal check-in is at 3 pm, my room was available within about an hour. Valentina was a delight to work with and very professional.
The room itself was very nice and was of a decent size. It had a ridiculous amount of lighting options, the bed was very nice and comfortable. It also had a nice relaxing balcony. The room was amazingly quiet. I believe they play white noise in the room which helps shield any noises and makes it more relaxing.
The location of the hotel was ideal for me as I like to walk from place to place. It is centrally located near many attractions and near many of the neighborhoods I wanted to visit. The only time I needed a cab was to travel to the airport.
What can I say about the staff. Everyone was gracious, professional and bent over backward to assist me when needed. I felt like I was treated like a king. From Valentina at the front desk, to Lucas the bartender, to the restaurant manager (Avado I think). All were wonderful. I cannot speak Spanish very well, but never had any communications problems due to many of the staff speaking English quite well. Each evening, when I happened to be in my room, a staff member would check on me to see if there was anything I needed. Such a great touch!
I don't understand why the hotel website doesn't highlight the restaurant more. I had several diecious dinners there, and the brunch is quite tasty as well.
All in all a wonderful experience. I actually got a little teary-eyed when I had to check out. I must give the Palladio my highest...
