The rooms are in bungalow type units with some on the ground floor and some up a flight of stairs. All have a small patio or balcony. There was a communal seating area in the foyer of our 3 room unit which would be good for groups or large families. It was a nice place to hang out rather than staying in the room. ||The room wasn’t very big but was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The only thing missing was a safe. The bathroom was nice and the shower good. There is covered parking inside the compound but it isn’t locked. ||The hotel is on the edge of the village and it’s a short walk (5-10 minutes) to the village centre where there are plenty of places to eat. You can start the 3km walk (paseo de los siete colores) from the hotel with no need to go into the village centre first. Ask reception for a map. It was worth doing. ||Breakfast was underwhelming. I was disappointed by the lack of healthy items (no fruit, only toasted white bread, ham and cheese, cake, sweet yogurt and cornflakes). No fresh bread or pastries. The best bit was the freshly squeezed orange juice which was delicious. ||I was happy with the stay overall and would...
Read moreThis B&B is amazingly beautiful, with a breathtaking view, spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Unfortunately, during our stay there was no running water! We checked in at 14:00 and we had no water until 07:00 the next morning. The next door rooms were facing the same issue. I understand that troubles like these can arise and they may not be easy to resolve in a small village like Purmamarca, but the staff was inexplicably unprofessional. First time we asked, the reply was that the problem will be fixed in 10min. Three hours later the answer was it will take an extra half hour. Third time (before going to bed) it will take another hour. Every time with a different or no explanation. Just tell us you don't know how long it will take. They didn't even care to ask us to use the main building facilities, we had to take the initiative on our own. Next morning when checking out, still the same employee, did not even offer a hint of apology, explanation, or a discount from the (quite expensive) price of 85$/night. A single we're sorry, we don't know when it will be ready, here use our common toilet, would have...
Read moreThe refugio is a little way out of town but walkable along the dusty road.||The room was clean but the bed linen and towels were on the thin side and showing wear and tear.||The shower was thankfully warm and the wifi did cut in and out.||The pool is not much to look at, but we're not great frequented of a pool on holidays such as these .||Breakfast was again very typical of this area around Salta and after a night that saw both of us with funny tummies we didn't even try the few bits of cake, or bread. They did have whole fruit which if I felt better ifight have availed myself of.||It was quiet. Great views of the colours behind this refugio. ||If you take most mid-range hotels and review without breakfast, then most...
