The hotel is NOT 5 star as they say. Maybe 3.5 due to the fact that there is disrepair extensively, mostly our room and floors. No attention to detail. As you can see in my photo, That the room numbers are missing, the door key lock was difficult to open, the furniture is beat up, paint on the windows and loud street noise. Not enough outlets and usb ports in the room. Many damaged walls and floors in the levels. The room was really cramped and definitely not five star . No massage service in the a.m., untrained beautician, my wife was really upset with how she washed and dried her hair on the Upper Floor Beauty Salon. Her hair came out frizzy and she had to finish her hair herself in our room. One thing I can say is that the staff is really helpful and the hotel management should appreciate how well we were treated and helped. If you were to ask me if I were to stay there again? I would say no because of the condition of the room that we stayed in. The hotel is close to a bus stop to get to all the main attractions and close to the point. The hotel is only about a 15-minute walk from downtown and there is plenty of restaurants and coffee shops on the way there to stop at if you're hungry. The restaurant in the hotel for dinner was quite pricey and I don't think it was worth the expense. The breakfast was included and was satisfactory other than the hostess telling us we only had 40 minutes to eat breakfast and we had to leave, which I thought was really rude for a supposedly five star Hotel. My suggestion is that if you're looking to go to Iguazu try to book early in advance to get a really nice hotel that would be the best bet. Most of the hotels in the downtown area are catered to Young Travelers and families and are not really meant for...
Read moreNicely decorated but, aged facilities Poor to nonexistent wifi service Unstable water pressure Intermittent elevator failures Not enough staff to attend the amount of occupants. Expect higher than normal wait times for services throughout the hotel, i.e. Front Desk, Bell Boy, Housekeeping. Waiters, Bartenders, etc. Too far from city center to walk in order to access shops and restaurants. Bus stop and taxi area nearby A buffet style dinner is served in the hotel's restaurant but, it is more like an appetizer buffet (fritters, hams, sausages, cheese, salads, vegetables, etc). as opposed to a formal dinner The few meats available were overcooked. The hotel restaurant requires reservations for dinner. This was not informed during Check In. It was not a problem the 1st night since there was low occupancy in the hotel but, on the 2nd night, when a massive group checked in, we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant. We asked for options and to talk to the Manager but, the Manager did not want to appear or provide options. We were told to dine at the bar area. The alternate dining option, the bar area, has a very limited menu, i.e. salad or pizza. After expressing our extreme discontent with the dining situation, the bar attendant was kind enough to bring us a small dish with food from the buffet. This was far from a solution but, very much appreciated.
I would classify this as a three star hotel at best. I truly appreciate the waiters and staff who understood our disappointment and tried to remediate as best possible and within their ability when Management was "no where to be seen". That said, if I ever come back, I would avoid this hotel and look for other...
Read moreThis hotel is far from being a 5 star. Maybe 20 years ago it was, but now it’s more like an overpriced 3 star hotel at most.||Upon check in we were given no information about the time for breakfast, WiFi or other amenities. We were simply taken to our room. The hotel is currently under renovation (much needed), so there was quite a lot of noise throughout the day. ||Room: The room is outdated and in need of an upgrade. In the bathroom there was rust in the shower, the shower door did not close properly and the water pressure was low. Furthermore in the room the walls were paper thin. We could clearly hear noise from the TV from the room next door. You can also hear doors slamming and people talking in the hallway. One positive thing is that the bed is comfortable. ||Pool: The pool area is also in need of a makeover. There were some broken tiles, the pool bar was closed during the day (maybe because it’s off season), the sun beds were plastic - very hard and uncomfortable, without matresses. The area is overall more suited for families with kids than couples.||Food: The restaurant is very overpriced and no one eats there. Breakfast was far from good with poor selection. ||All in all, we are super disappointed with our stay, and would strongly recommend finding another hotel in Puerto Iguazú. Prior to coming here we stayed at a lovely three star hotel nearby in the Selva Iryapú. We wanted to have a bit of luxury on our last days in Iguazú and thought we would get this at the Amerian Portal del Iguazú - but ended up really regretting...
