This Hotel is far from town, about 18 minute walk up a very steep hill. However, that would have been no big deal if the reception staff would have been more helpful. ||When we checked in we inquired with the receptionist regarding excursions he might recommend, he merely pointed to a table of dusty marketing pamphlets from local providers. We also inquired with a gal which appeared to be a manager type, because she had her own office. She told us in no uncertain terms that she was above giving tourists advice & we should inquire with the (useless)reception. ||I will say it was only the male receptions who treated us as if they couldn’t care less. |I blame bad management. If the management doesn’t care for their costumers then why should the the staff be any different? ||One last complaint; After we had climbed the steep hill to the hotel with heavy backpacks we just wanted some water. The hotel sold us two 500ml bottles for $100 pesos. Heavily overpriced!! Upon checkout when we told them their water was really expensive they argued that it was the same as any restaurant or store. Whatever???||If you come here knowing what you want to do & where you want to go then this place is a good value. If your looking for some local help & knowledge of what to do...
Read moreThe building has a traditional architecture with a vintage vibe and a great view of the city. Although it has an acceptable general maintenance some details lower the category. Location is somehow far up the montain and like 10 block from downtown, so if you don't rent a car, there are way better options. NO WI-FI in the rooms!!!! Only at common areas. You need it to check the weather, recieve messages from family/work and coordinate activities during your stay. Beds are good, check if there are queen or twin available. I stayed with my bf and had to sleep in separated beds. The bathroom is old, no other way to describe it. And water comes out making water splashes (no fun on the hot water, turning into ice cold or burning hot. 😱) Front desk employees are mostly kind, but not too much into the guest concerns. The worst: we took 3 extra sandwiches from breakfast service (had to leave for a 5 hour trekking walk really early, with no time to go anywhere else) and it was a bit of an scandal, plus they charge us a value of a whole dinner. Overall a disappointing experience. There are plenty of other options: more modern, better located, and I guess better serverd (since they not set the standar very high in...
