We stayed at The Belfry for a night. It was New Year’s eve and the place was full. We had the smallest room which had a window facing the street( laneway) and a double bed and that’s about it. The Belfry as mentioned, is still very much like a backpackers. I was disappointed with the tiny, basic room but beggars can’t be choosers as we booked late. The view from the verandah is very nice. It stretches along the country side and is a nice spot to chill. Avoid going here in peak times as the rooms are not sound proof at all and the stairs are noisy. If the place is busy it’s unlikely you’ll get a good night’s sleep. You’ll also be paying peak season prices for a very average room. Avoid our small room as you will have street noise and may be possibly visited by the rubbish truck outside our window early morning. The person who checked us in was very friendly, but unfortunately her replacement appeared uninterested in the guests. The Belfry is centrally located- right in the middle of town. Fortunately the weather wasn’t too hot. If it was hot our room would have been oppressive. Overall, some nice outdoor features but expect a backpackers and not a...
Read moreThis cozy guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of Bellingen. I was pleased to be able to change my room to the upper floor, where the nicer rooms are located (#8-#11). I ecommend paying the extra for the upper rooms. My room was clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. Towels were provided. There is no AC, but there was a fan in my room. There is a lot of natural sunlight on the upper floor.||||The washrooms on the upper level are private, with a lockable door and a shower, toilet, and sink. Body wash was also provided. Dale at the front desk was super helpful and friendly, making my stay even more enjoyable.||||You can easily purchase food at nearby restaurants or buy groceries and store them in the shared fridge. The guesthouse's central location and comfortable amenities make it a great choice for a stay...
Read moreLovely spot in town with very kind staff. The room was clean (although fairly small and cold). However, the listing for the Belfy on Hotels.com does not say that the room uses a shared bathroom and it isn't mentioned on their website. There was also some major, extremely loud street construction all night, so I couldn't sleep or even work. I know that the staff cannot control that, but it turns out they were alerted a day before the construction but didn't tell me or give me the option to cancel the reservation, which I absolutely would have done. Parking is also a big challenge; you'll likely have to park in public parking spaces and move your car every two hours; I didn't see any other option and when I mentioned it I wasn't told of an...
