5 Church Street — Restaurant in Bellingen

Just had some coffees at this place. When I ordered I went up with my card to pay and was told to wait till the end to pay.

Sat on the couch but a local band which was not pleasant to listen to started so we followed a couple of older ladies outside who had the same idea and sat at a table with our coffees.

Next thing you know I have a different waitress saying she thought we ‘had done a runner’ accusing us of being thieves. She proceeded to do her best to get us to pay straight away instead of waiting till the end clearly implying she still thought we were thieves.

I’ve never been treated so poorly by a cafe in my life. We were dressed better than the majority of the other patrons for God’s sake. I’m not one to brag but let’s just say I don’t need to steal $12 worth of coffees from some second rate cafe.

The waitress even had the gall to joke she did some online shopping with our credit...

Tasty food, good atmosphere but be wary of the dress code. For a rather late dinner we walked around the town and decided on this joint based on the reviews. I must say we were in rather relaxed clothes (hoody and pants) after a long drive and we may be slightly judged by the looks when we arrived, which I kinda understand for a sit down restaurant 😁 We were given a quick excuse not to go in for a music night in session so we decided to order some drinks and go for a take out option. I would recommend the same if you don't wanna suit up and come back. That being said I have been to other great restaurants in similar circumstances which have handled the situation a bit better.

The food was delicious and have enjoyed the complex flavours to the max for a great ending...

I had great pleasure having breakfast at this cute little cafe. The atmosphere was insanely relaxing with kids playing music and nature around. The staff was friendly and helpful but would have been even better only if the food comes out together…. They come in 8 min apart and my friend’s toastie was unfortunately cold by the time the last food came out. The toastie was good except not warm and my poached eggs, green sauce, pork belly and potato röstie was ok. The pork belly smelt meaty but other ingredients were excellent, especially grilled tomatoes. My friend changed the pork belly to Halloumi and it looked and tasted superb, each component of the dish balanced very nicely. I would come around again when Im in...
