Our stay felt like something out of National Lampoon’s Vacation. We arrived at 7 p.m., exhausted, and checked in using the security safe beside reception, only to find it unlocked and the code unnecessary. Outside our room, a mining truck was parked directly in front, and a broken chair was discarded beside the door. The door was flaking at the bottom, scattering wooden chips inside each time it was opened. Inside, the room was stifling hot, and figuring out the outdated air conditioning required contacting after-hours reception. Even when working, the poorly positioned unit offered little relief. Attempting to close the curtains caused both rails to fall off, and the soap dispenser broke away from the wall. I sat in the only chair, only to fall as it tipped over. A broken leg made it unusable, so I tossed it outside with the other discarded chair. The door lock was ripped off and poorly repaired, the pillows were thin and lumpy, and the bed ensembles were stained with odd reddish-brown flecks. To top it off, the pool was green, murky, and completely inoperable. The entire experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived.

We arrived to an old, but clean and highly perfumed room. The pictured chair attached could not be sat on and should be removed. The TV doesn’t work, there are no extra pillows or a blanket as the guest information manual says there should be. There is only one plate and one bowl when there are two people. The internet drops out continuously so it is easier to use our phone data. There is no one on site to speak with although there is a number to call. The keys were in a key box. For the high price we paid through booking.com for this room, it is a disappointment and we are glad it is only one night.

These 2 pictures perfectly summarise the cleanliness and condition of the room. Front of house staff are lovely. But this place is run down, 20 years past due for renovations and generally a very unpleasant experience. Mattress was as hard as a rock, aircon impossible to sleep with it on, rattle from the fridge, and a leaking shower. The cockroach in the picture was 1 of 3 that kept me company in my room for the night.

Arrived late .. But found this little gem! On arrival, I was greeted by a lovely man called Gavin. He informed me of recent change of owner. And slowly updating the hotel. Gavin was most helpful and friendly manager and could not do enough.. The room we stayed in a studio was clean, fresh bed, and recently painted. Important factor for me is a clean bathroom and bed. We are not fussy like some..but good old fashion back to basics is what I look for clean and comfortable being the most important.

My partner is vegetarian, everwhere we go there is very limited to no vegetarian meals on the menu. But Gavin spoke to chef and he was more than kind enough to tussle up a great veg dinner! !! My partner love it!! The price was good for a decent nights sleep. Fresh cold bottled water in fridge very nice in the morning. . Didn't try breakfast as we headed off early. But basic continental breakfast looked good. Would definitely return .Look forward to upcoming changes to a lovely hotel and great staff. . The lady who served us dinner was also very helpful in information on the area in Emerald. . Thanks again Gavin and the staff.

Cheers Jo &...

I normally try to remain positive when writing a review. Sorry I could not on this. We booked online to stay here on the 28/12/2022 because of the pictures and pool. What we walked into was nothing but disappointment. The rooms were dirty, the taps leaked, the toilet cracked and badly scratched up on the seat. There was live cockroach in the bathroom, power points were behind your pillows and the bed was so painful, the sheet’s dirty, there was blood on the sheets and we had to dust the dirt and bark out before climbing in. If there was a blanket I would have slept on top. I had red pressure marks in the morning and I only weight 56kg. I tried to see the manager in the morning but the reception door was still locked even though she was inside. I would strongly suggest revamping the rooms before continuing with changing the colours of the reception area. Despicable condition for $218.00 for the night....
