Budget on the Lake — Hotel in Hamilton

I would normally choose an accommodation based on the reviews and I think we were given a room that was up for renovation but don’t mind as long as I’m comfortable.

The building and outside is looking tired but clean. Our room is no. 3 and does not have the view of the lake.

Liked the bed that comes with bed side table and handy power points each and lamp. Bed comes with doona that seem used over and over in between two white clean sheets and pillowcases were discoloured. Bed would be nice if firm.

Strong water pressure and good hot water but spills water outside the shower making the foot towel wet. Suggest to change the shower curtain as it’s short in length with yellow stains at the bottom. Could have also plumed the ac drip better. Shampoo, conditioner & body wash is all in one.

Wash basin is too tiny, again water is allover the floor after using it and dishes couldn’t fit to wash properly in that same wash basin.

Kitchenette is well equipped with immediate kitchen items but no detergent to wash them. Nice to have fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster.

Roller blind does not draw up unless manually do it from the top, dusty including the sheer curtain. Mosquitos were present too. Nice electronic door locks.

It was discomfort stay for me but had a good experience of the place as it was our first time...

I booked here because their website and listings onTripAdvisor and booking.com all said they offered room service and breakfast in the room. I was very disappointed to be told when I asked for the menu that they no longer do this. I was told this is because of covid. Which is understandable but geez, covid has been around for 2 years now, update your website and all the hotel booking sites! I would not have made the booking had I known this.||||Other services their website says they provide that they don't are: DVD player, in room movies, clock radio, mini bar. The wifi password in the information booklet in the room was incorrect. Milk is not supplied in the rooms. You have to ask for it, so bear this in mind late at night. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as they only supply a combined shampoo/conditioner/body wash. ||||Bed was comfortable but pillows were thin so I would suggest taking your own. Location is quiet. The walls of the motel are very thin, so you can hear any noise that goes on in adjacent rooms. The rooms were extremely clean, a good size with a couch and were nicely decorated. ||||If you are looking for a basic place to stay that is clean and roomy with no other services you won't be disappointed. Budget is correct. Stayed 2 nights and found service poor and almost non existant. Our room was not serviced and whe we tried to contact the office there was no reply to messages left with the phone numbers on the office door even though we called during their office hours. It was only that we contacted another business who contacted the owners that we were finally able to have our room serviced after waiting over 2 hours. When I was speaking with the owner/manager who came to the room he tried to tell us that the motel office was unmanned over the weekend eventhough signage stated office hours between 8am and 7pm on the weekends. The room itself was clean and tidy, however there was mould on the front curtain and along the windows ledge. The mould is probably due to the poor bathroom ventilation when showering as the steam was not drawn out by the small window fan and the window was not able to be opened to draw the steam out. Also when showering water would be splashed onto the floor as the shower curtain was too short. This made the bathroom floor very slippery.
