Can't recommend this place highly enough, me and my partner camped here with my dog for a week in January 2023. We had a non-powered campsite, the location was magnificent, plenty of flat ground for camping on and we had total privacy in our little spot. The Holiday Park is within walking distance or 2 min drive to local shops/bakery/cafe/tavern/bottle-o, which made it really easy to stock up on little convinience items you may need or may have forgotten for your trip. Their park rules for dogs were second to none, 100% respectful of all animal owners and my dog had a total blast on the trip. We were there for a week and besides one dog on our second last night that wouldn't shut up (and I place full fault on the inconsideracy of the dog owner, not the park), every dog I saw in the park was well looked after and well within the respectful dog rules of other campers. Great location for fishing, great for pets and great for swimming, with the options of the beach or many cruisy little water inlets to splash/swim/dive/snorkel in. Moonee Beach Reflections holiday Park is also in a really convinient travel location if you would like to go to other beaches/places throughout your stay, with lots of other options being within 20mins or closer to drive to. The bathroom facilities were always spotless and clean and required an easy code for access, hot water was sublime and there didn't seem to be a restriction on hot water use, plenty of shower hooks for your clothes/towels/toiletries so they don't get wet. There was also a dog wash bay with options for both cold and hot water which my dog thought was the bees knees, next to a laundry area and many clotheslines for washing if needed. We didn't use the kitchen facilities while we were there because we were opting for the full camp-out kitchen, but I did peek in there and they had your stock-standard kitchen utilities provided for cooking and cleaning, plus some extra appliances. Besides the beach and the rivers right next to the holiday park, there was a beautiful headland walk to go on. When we were there the bridge was still under construction so we had to take a bit of a detour but was still a wonderful walk to go on, well worth the water-wading instead of the bridge. And of course I can't forget Jaya at the front desk who was 11/10 on the customer service, she made the booking process so easy and was wonderful throughout our stay, especially with our last minute booking (Reflections Holiday Park, give her a raise!). The park also sends out text notifications to their campers so when there is a pizza night/pancake breakfast, everyone can attend if they desire. Only thing I can say negatively was there wasn't enough information on allowance of having a campfire, we tried to have a fire in one of the provided fire pits but were told to shut it down as there were fire restrictions and this was not advertised on the website. Pain in the butt if you're bringing your own firewood coz it's just a waste of packing space, but oh well, t'was the season. If you enjoy campfire cookouts I'd recommend contacting the park and asking about fire restrictions prior to your stay. Also I saw heaps of reviews prior to us attending about the sandflies - might be a seasonal thing (we camped in January) but we didn't have a problem, obviously with camping and being on the beach theres going to be sandflies and mozzies, but we had a mozzie coil and a citranella candle burning at our campsite each arvo/evening and I think for the whole week we were there we only used mozzie repellant once. We'll definitely be back, this is going to be a favourite holiday place for me, my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, I am obliged to share the very unpleasant experience we had at Moonee Beach Reflections. Around 0900 of the checkout morning, I approached the front desk and asked the staff if it was possible to have a late check out. The young blond girl who was attendingĀ the reception then asked me what time I wanted to check out, to which I replied that I did not know, because my wife was sleeping in, and I wanted to let her have some rest. Still, I told her that if that was not possible, obviously we still would leave no later than the checkout time at 1000. She then replied to me that it was not a busy day, that we could leave whenever and did not give me a checkout time. At the time I was surprised by this answer, because whenever you ask for a checkout time, they provide you a new checkoutĀ time and explain to you that it might incur a fee or a fine, etc. Later I got a call from the same staff member, asking at what time we were leaving our cabin because housekeeping had to clean the cabin. As soon as I told her that we were having breakfast outside of the holiday park she lost it. I couldn't even finish my sentence and tell her that we were on our way back already, because she was already very rude and angry, lecturing me that "it was not what we agreed on". My wife and I then rushed back to the holiday park, opened the cabin so we could get our stuff out and I returned her the keys without saying a word to her. Despite her abusive tone, I never reacted using her same tone. About 15min later I was outside of the cabin putting our stuff inside the car, and she appeared, asking why I gave her the keys if we were still there. I then explained that since she was in such a hurry to have the cabin cleaned, we had everything out already, i.e., we rushed so housekeeping could to their job. For some unclear reason this upset her even more, using a tone even more rude and aggressiveĀ than before, and walked away saying that we were blacklisted from the holiday park, as if we were people with unsocial behaviour, the kind who vandalises the premises, leaves without paying, shoplift items from the front desk, etc. It is sad that what was a weekend away that we really enjoyed must be remembered by the very unprofessional behaviour of one of your employees. It was the worst guest/customer service I ever had. Had she said "No, no late checkout can be arranged", we would be ok with that. Had she stipulated a checkout time, we would also be happy with that. Had we been informed that we violated the park regulations, and we were supposed to pay a fine, well, shame on us and we would pay the fine and be accountable for our mistakes. The icing of the cake is that my wife decided to talk to the park manager about everything that happened, the park manager herself was insisting that I was told that the checkout time was at 1100 when this was absolutely not true at all. There's no need for us to be blacklisted, I am not going to Reflections Moonee Beach to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey charged me incorrectly then out of the blue said you owe us $2,500. I paid it but now they are saying Iām not welcome back because of payment issue which was not my doing.
I am both surprised and shocked by their attitude and now Iām barred? What?
Did i actually owe them $2,500? Schools out on that one but I was forced to pay and now not welcome back? My behaviour and friendliness was never questioned.
How is it that Iāve been staying with other Reflections Parks nearby and had zero problems?
There is other beautiful places but I must admit the inlet is incredible, safe and absolutely worth a visit.
What is expressed above is just MY experience which was disappointing, entirely not of my doing and now quite offensive (insinuating Iām somehow at fault). Ah how? Please explain?
Regarding feedback from reflections I have already paid what was owed and being on a disability pension i could not raise $2000 before I left but finished it up months ago after using my tax return to settle it in a $1000 final payment. It was only bought to my attention before leaving that I had been charged the wrong rate or such and living week to week means i didnāt have $2.5k on hand.
I payed as diligently as i could considering my income. As soon as i received my tax return I paid out the remaining $1,000.
Iām really just disappointed that I am not welcome back after getting to know the staff and taking my son to the beach and camping in...
