The Lodge Outback Motel, Moranbah (Prev. Moranbah Outback Motel) — Hotel in Moranbah

Sadly my room must have been trashed by previous guests.. The shower rose was broken so when I turned on to shower, water went everywhere & showered the whole bathroom, water was everywhere!!

There were no cups for coffee or tea, no teaspoons, but sugar, tea and coffee supplied??! The carpet was dirty with a cigarette wrapper left on the floor. The bed was very uncomfortable, like it was so old and all springs broken! The air conditioning system was taped up and very sus to me, so did not even turn it on. My room was 16! For $140 a night definitely over the top! I have stayed in many motels for $118 to $130 but the quality of facilities far exceeded what this motel offered!

Not the motel fault, but the workers from the mines who stay there have no respect for other guests who don't need to wake up at 4am with loud cars, talking outside rooms, with reverse beepers blasting away so early before sun up!! 😡🤬🥴

The restaurant attached is awesome, great food, friendly staff and my evening meal was first class! Most enjoyable..

However bouquets to the check in ladies all very pleasant, smiling & happy at reception.. my room was certainly in need...

I stayed here for one night this week, largely because everywhere else was booked out.||||The room was basic but clean and comfortable, containing a double bed and a single bed, with an ensuite. The exhaust fan in the ensuite was very noisy!||||Check in was fast and friendly, paying upon check in, with the friendly receptionist emailing me a receipt immediately. There is a connected Chinese Restaurant off the reception area and the food smelt good, although I dined elsewhere with colleagues.||||There are ironing facilities and a limited range of toiletries here, but no face washers. ||||All up, I had a good stay, it is a solid 3 star hotel - as long as you set your expectations you will have a good stay. Parking is available directly outside your room. Stayed here for 8 nights for work. The staff come into the room every day and turn the aircon off. It's not pleasant arriving back to my room in the afternoon and it's 35 degrees inside. Takes 2-3 hours to cool down which is unpleasant after working all day.

Once the staff knocked while I had a do not disturb sign on the door and the other time they entered the room while I was in the shower as I didn't reply to their knocking.

Have some respect for your tenants or you won't have any...
