Red Sands Accommodation Newman — Hotel in Newman

DO NOT GO THERE!!

I Booked on the phone with this lovely gentleman for my partners surprise birthday after a beautiful couple of days in Karijini, he said 200$ for a double 154$ for a single ( having already found option B at TOM PRICE) I decided to go for the red sands, once got there there was no one at the Bar " reception" I went to bottle shop after 10 min and asked if someone was there?! A smily guy came out and after looking and not finding our booking? He then said they had a availability at 260$!! I said that was not the price I had booked at but I had no confirmation email... YES MY FAULT FOR NOT ASKING... ( I checked the rate on booking.com and it was at 240$, so what is he on about?) Anyways after asking if he could find/ call the gentleman that I Booked with, he said very rudely he was the only one working there and that couldn't be possible. At this point I am gobsmacked! It is now 18:30 and this guy is not willing to help at all, his attitude starts getting worse as soon as I ask to see the manager as he said he was the manager? In that case and being in the same industry I would definitely recommend to the owner to retrain their staff.

I finally left the place extremely upset and had to "ruin" my partners surprise but telling him what happened... also while he was waiting in a car he had people come up to him to ask for alcohol or money?! Didn't seem like a secure place anyways at the end...

Lucky enough some people around helped us find acomodation for the night.

I still can't believe what happened... up to you to go there but I...

I am giving you one because it wont let me put no stars for the absolute disgusting treatment of an elderly couple on the 10th Jan 2022 @ around 6pm . who ever the so called gentleman was that dismissed my parents after they drove 14h to be put into not one but 3 seperate rooms with no working aircon on a 42 deg day, you should be ashamed of yourself . not only did the aircon not work but the room was dirty.

My father who has had major surgery and recovering and had to walk to the room and back 4 times and try and get the rooms sorted only to deal with a staff member that did not care.

my parents had to drive an extra 2 hours to auski roadhouse to find suitable accommodation.

To the man that was working the bar on that night i hope that you learn from this and also take the time to treat your customers with a bit more respect.

Do yourself a favor and do not stay here!!!!!

I have stayed here previously for work in a single room that was basic but ok. This room was very very very basic. The room was one of 3 in a single portable caravan, when other Tennant's moved or entered the structure the caravan moved. Room size is quoted as 15m2 but is much less: maximum 3m x 3m, no window or daylight. The room had the shower and toilet as part of the room - no separation. No drinking water provided, tea and coffee but no milk. A kettle but no way to fill it. The wash hand basin only worked when the toilet was flushed. Hot water wasn't working and had to be requested for a gas bottle change, this could be checked by housekeeping when making up the room rather than putting the onus on the guest. Same with the bin - the bin was left outside and I didn't see it til morning when it was light. Could it have been left in the room? Luckily it was only an emergency one night stopover, and I understand it is Newman and there is the "mining" tax to pay, but $165 is...
