The Red Sands Tavern — Restaurant in Newman

Went there for mate's farewell. Made booking a week in advance by coming to the resto & met the owner ourselves.

Owner older guy was nice and told us last order will be at 8-8.15pm after we informed him that as a FiFo, we wont be able to come before 6.15-6.30pm cos of our roster.

So we went had a feed, one of us had emergency at work & only rock up at 7.30pm, she is the person whom we have the farewell for.

We then went to the counter & order her food as we wanted to pay for hers. Nice young guy who serves her said yes they can do as its only steak, salad & chips, but suddenly from the kitchen behind him, short guy wearing black uniform (looked like a chef uniform) stormed out and rudely said to my friend : NO, kitchen is near close we cant do food anymore and he grabbed the black sign from under the table that said: CLOSED. The young guy serving us looked a bit shocked & he questioned him, but chef said: when I said its closed its closed they can go somewhere else.

Our friend and us were so disappointed. Dont know whats the problem with the chef, didnt even say sorry or anything and his attitude was truly disgusting. We told him that owner told us that we can order food until 8pm even until 8.15 and that was only 7.35pm when we tryna order. He just walked off back to the kitchen. Very very rude. The young guy who serves us were apologetic and its not his fault. But I guess thats the end of our relationship with Red Sands thanks to the rude chef.

This happened in the early August, we just hope that no one will have same experience with us, we all are regulars to Red Sands Newman and always have farewell or small group drinks there.

Hopefuly owner or management aware of this & train the said chef to be more polite and...

I walk into take away shop and was totally shocked to see a photo of myself near a cash register, apparently i was wanted for stealing beer with a shaming photo , the person in charge said I had not paid for some take aways a few days ago . And he was so in my face about it so i paid for them and what i was there for as well no questions, now i see This person had And it was 100% his mistake had charged my account 0.09 I pay passed never check the amount he charged how would i know he incorrectly entered the wrong amount, i was latter told he was going to go to bhp the next day and see about getting me sacked seriously lose my job over 19.90 , this place sums up Newman sad sad place .PS i be back go to my 0.09 as...

Meals were fantastic but the drinks were quite expensive. The service and the staff were very good. I couldn’t believe the size of the accommodation rooms as the ones that we were allocated were about 2 metres by 3 metres. The room that I was first allocated at first, the door couldn’t be opened. There was no room for a seat, no kettle, etc, coffee or tea making products and the shower had no water in my room but my mates room did have water. No hot water at the sink in either room. The running water in the sink was also to refill the toilet...
