Moonraker Motor Inn — Hotel in Parkes

Stayed here 1 night each trip 2 weeks apart first stay was ok room 5 a bit dated and traffic noise from the highway but my 2nd stay was horrible, I was in room 6 there was a cockroach on my pillow and another under the covers one ran across my face during the night, when I got up to use the bathroom during the night and turned the light on roaches would scatter, found an empty can of bug spray tucked beside the fridge, didn't get much sleep even though I was exhausted from a 10 hour drive due to the roaches, complained to the guy at reception in the morning and he seemed shocked by the news of roaches but all he said was oh sorry about that I'll get someone to look into it but no need as I couldn't sleep I decided to kill and trap a few of them and leave them on the bench. I honestly feel that I should have been given a refund but had another 10 hours of driving to do so didn't have time to stick around and argue about it.

Stayed here in January in a pet friendly room as had our small dog with us. Bed comfortable and clean. The place is very run down and I wondered if it was better in the non pet friendly rooms. It was not very well cleaned in bathroom etc. took dog out for a walk and just closed door. Hubby was in shower (very close to front door). When I came back 5 mins later the door was open 4 inches. So obviously handle didn’t close properly. Stayed again this month and got the room next door. Carpet stained heaps and dog was constantly sniffing everywhere. Front door didn’t shut properly unless slammed and got stuck when trying to open it. Damage from dogs on sofa and chairs. Towels felt thin and old. Sheets although clean made me feel like I was in a hospital bed. Worse of all was 5 minutes after we walked in my husband started sneezing and blowing nose constantly. Made his stay and couple of days afterwards very miserable. We will not be staying there again. The whole place...

Ok there is good and bad with this review. Stayed one night in January 2020, in a pet room. On the positive side, staff were very friendly and efficient. The beds were comfortable and clean. The negative....obvious pet urine stains on carpet. Our dogs started scratching almost immediately after entering the room so I expect fleas were in the carpet. Decor is extremely old and the bathroom area is just a horror story but it was clean. We ordered room service from the restaurant and regretted it. Steak and vegetables...Steak was great however the vegetables were inedible, obviously they had been cooked in old oil as everything tasted of fish and was overcooked. Very...
