Bunbury Apartment Motel — Hotel in South Bunbury

Sadly I don't have much nice to say about this place. I booked here because the reviews were so good, but I feel I need to write about our experience so people can make an informed decision. Pros - Easy check in and Air-Con worked well Cons - Beds needed replacing several years ago, all were sunken in the middle. Pool noodle used to hide a gap in the windows. No light in the bathroom. Cupboard was broken so hubby walked into it when we first got into the room. Towels were very thin. Cold water only put out hot water, so nowhere to fill water bottles and too hot for a small child. Very noisy, could hear people stomping at all hours. When you flush the toilet, the button got stuck. Gap under the front door where the seal was coming off. Abrupt staff. Curtains didn't cover the windows so headlights illuminated the room. Paint peeling off. Powerboats glued to wall (surely this is a fire/safety hazard). Not impressed dishes needed to be cleaned near the toilet (isn't this a health issue?) Walls dirty. Remote broken and stuck together with tape.

Feel this was falsely advertised.

Terrible. Never again.

We were booked in for 3 nights, but after the first night we knew we couldn't stay any longer.

The rooms are extremely dated.

Aircon/Heater did not work. Room was very cold.

Bathroom window was stuck open and could not be shut. That Created an Awful draft coming from the bathroom even from under the door when closed.

The walls are so thin we could hear everything from the surrounding rooms, including TV'S, peoples conversations, showers and toilet use!

People talking and smoking on the balcony out the front at all hours of the night. Again you can hear everything like its all happening inside your room.

We had people outside talking and smoking until 11.30pm. Then we had the room next door getting up at 1.30am getting ready for work. So again more TV's, more talking, showers and toilets all over again.

Then cars and trucks engines running outside for 20 mins before leaving.

We couldn't do that again, we went down and spoke to the manager and told him we would be checking out.

He told us he would refund our money, but he was unable to refund us there at the time. To this date. We still have not been...

Our booking with this motel was very last minute and I do appreciate their staff members for accommodating us on a very short notice. As a last minute booking, standard motel room was our only available option, so I can only comment on this room. The room was fairly small and very basic with somehow old furniture. The room was designed for 3 people with 1 queen and 1 single bed, but didn't really offer enough room for 3. There wasn't exhaust fan to the toilet which was very strange although there was a ventilation window but that wasn't enough. The motel is located far away from the city centre, certainly not walking distance, but off course the location mostly depends on where you need to access.
