Pretty ordinary experience..
I didn’t actually stay here in the end, but I accidentally booked the wrong date for my accommodation (totally my fault) and had booked in 2 nights before I was due to stay.
I realised on the drive up and called the Inn advising them of what had occurred and the owner Rhonda understood what had occurred and advised they would prepare the room For the night I intended to stay.
I didn’t actually discuss the payment situation. But upon arriving I spoke with her husband who was extremely rude. I asked if it was possible that I could get a transfer of my booked dates or discounted rate because I didn’t actually stay.
He was adamant that my contract was with the booking agency and they had no responsibility to me as far as a discount or transfer was concerned. (I understood that they didn’t have any legal duty to provide me assistance).
So I basically I said ok I guess I’ll go somewhere cheaper (due to the fact that I was on a work trip and my employer would be upset if I paid the expensive $175 for the night again)…
Which he then tried to tell me that he could charge me for another night because supposedly my call earlier explaining the situation was interpreted as another booking!
Eventually he said he would cancel that reservation without charging me, trying to imply he was doing a nice favour.
What I can’t wrap my head around I suppose is that. 1. The inn was very quiet with barely any guests. 2. It is a smallish country town and I was willing to pay again at a discounted rate for no extra work for them. 3. I probably would have given a good review for their understanding of my situation.
As it turns out the owners were not interested in helping in any way and were determined to make like difficult for me rather than earn themselves some good reviews and do a nice favour.
As mentioned they were within their rights… just wasn’t good moral or...
Read moreOvernight stay. Again on way back to Adelaide. Having stayed here before we decided to stay here again and it was just as nice a second time round. Excellent friendly reception service. Room was clean and modern. Mini bar and toaster and kettle. But no plates to use the toaster. Also warm enough to use the motel pool. But no pool towels provided and didn’t want to use our bath towels. Pool was clean and had pool float toys to use. Heavily chlorinated but I guess that’s expected. |We found there were issues with the foxtel TV though - we tried to watch movies and shows but found only the free to air tv worked. Everything we tried to watch that required internet or chrome casting either didn’t work or would stop after a few mins in and restart. So we turned tv off. Bed very comfortable. |Breakfast is now available between 7-9 too in Peppercorn restaurant. Not dinner though. And there is a $13 bacon and egg muffin hash brown and coffee deal. |Motel is well situated located on Main Street into Swan Hill. This Time we had a good sleep not too much...
Read moreThis Hotel is warm & friendly, from the time you walk in the door on arrival until you drive out the driveway to leave. The staff treat you as if you have been coming to stay on a regular basis. As I travel for work I like the familiarity feeling that it gives. The rooms are welcoming when you open the door and extremely clean. Rooms are ground level, easy accessibility and quiet.
Hotel is well appointed only 2 minutes from the centre of town & if you need directions the staff are more than happy to give assistance.
This hotel has a Restaurant so if you don't want to go anywhere to eat you can stroll across the car park for a beautifully prepared meal. At a very reasonable cost. If like me you just want Room Service you have access to their Restaurant Menu. I had Salmon it was fresh, great flavour & cooked perfectly.
Remember you are in country Victoria, there is a lot to see & this is a great...
