Food was made as expected, and tasted good, but no extra special attentive wait staff here, in fact, our waiter was a bit impatient with us, although didnt seem rushed, but seemed he didnt want to make eye contact with customers or engage politely in talk about the meals or drinks or anything for that matter, and was robotic, even to the point of rude (no warmth at all), he leant across diners, removed items without asking, didnt provide other items needed, and basically told the chef to shut up when chef tried to offer advice on meals. Usually were used to chef being included in requests, even nice when they are able to come out to table to speak with us, but we had to communicate though the waiter who didnt seem to know how to help or want to help (or that's how it felt). Maybe he was having a bad day? He looked away when he asked questions of diners, he answered before the diners finished speaking and was wrongly answering on most occassions (showing much arrogance). Staff had little room to move and werent respected either, he was micromanaging them on things they could handle for the customers quite adequately (if hed allow it). Pricing was adequate but we didnt stay long. It wasnt up to the standard of service we were looking for. Witnessing too many private conversations. Maybe some music could drown these out and add some atmosphere too? One wait staffs bottom was squeezing through booth and tables. Not at all adequate space for removing crockery safely when twisting and the man wait staff aforementioned was bringing drinks dripping over the floor right at the entrance on hard floor (tiles I think) was a spill of alcohol across to the diners table. Wait staff also carrying coffee through an odd set up of glass doors to walk through. All in all we felt the setting was not good, but food was very nice. Well done to the team working there under those...

Went to Quo-Vadis during a recent trip to Swan Hill. Was not a place we wanted to go, however due to the public holiday we weren’t left with much choice. I had heard about a previous experience and the expectations weren’t high.

When arriving, immediately before I had even had a chance to look at a menu I was asked if I wanted some entrees. The whole situation felt rushed and pressured.

We ordered Oysters, now having two public holidays in a row and the location it was a questionable choice. The oysters didn’t smell fresh and after trying them we decided not to eat the remaining. We quietly and politely moved the remaining onto the empty table. The manager came over and questioned us about the oysters, personally I felt he was very defensive, telling us he had never had anyone complain about his oysters before. We never complained we just politely said they weren’t for us and were still happy to pay for them.

I do rate the eggplant chips they were delicious, however that’s about it for what we liked.

For the mains we ordered the lamb shank, I instantly had food regret once I had my first bite. The mash potato had no flavour, I actually thought it was packet mash for a short period of time. And the lamb well you can see my pics for that. It was severely over cooked, I could barely cut the meat off the bone that’s how tough it was. We ended up not finishing the food and leaving.

So overall would not...

Not impressed! Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had. Walked in and was met by a man possibly manager/owner who asked us if we had a booking, which to be fair we didn’t however the restaurant was practically empty. Anyway he hesitantly gave us a table. We looked at the menu which I must say was very expensive, so we thought quality must be good. Well it wasn’t… we ordered and waited like 35 min for our food to come, even though like I said restaurant was more than half empty. When it did finally come the pizza was tasteless, and somehow the dough was undercooked. The Parma we ordered was ok. We’re staying in the area for a few days and we will NOT be returning customers, and we have friends visiting there soon too so will advise against this restaurant. The service alone was off putting! These owners need to realise that in these times where people are not spending money so easily, good service comes a long way. Which unfortunately the older man working there had no personality and was very rude and a little stuck up, not sure why as we are the ones spending the money. Which we were careful not to spend too much especially after how we were greeted! Glad we didn’t order a lot as food was below average. A take away pizza from a pizza shop would have had better taste and...

Great service from friendly staff. We ordered Bruschetta for entree which tasted nice. It was garlic bread with a slice of fresh tomato, a piece of shaved Parmesan and a sprinkle of balsamic glaze and basil. Reasonable for $8. For main we ordered Spaghetti Marinara with olive oil and Garlic which was also tasty and its price was acceptable at $34. My main course was very over priced for what I received. I ordered a seafood platter salad for $44, I wanted a healthy salad option, this was the only choice. It contained 2 prawns, 4 scallops and some rolled up smoked salmon. Very basic and all starved very cold, The salad was spinach leaves, about 3 cherry tomatoes and a few pieces of cucumber. That’s all…. Would have been much better if the seafood was served hot and freshly cooked on a beautiful mixed salad bed

If your looking for a great restraunt with outstanding food and hospitality, this is it. Big shout out to the owner Joe (hope I got this right?). Walked in after work in high vis looking for somewhere to eat, was invited in with no hesitation and beverages served while looking at menu. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff as well, food is well presented and tastes amazing. Would be one of my favourite restraunts, just a shame I'm not local. Will diffently be saved as a favourite and calling in when I'm close by. Thanks again for your hospitality.
