Stayed here for one night on a road trip up the east coast of Tasmania. The rooms are set in gardens rather than there being a central building and I stayed in room 11 behind the reception area. Parking is a bit tight on the site although there was a small space outside my room. I noticed a review suggesting that all the rooms are accessible - they are not, there were wooden steps up to mine and to several of the other rooms. If you want an accessible room I suggest requesting it at booking. ||My room was a reasonable size, there was a queen size bed, and it was well decorated but basic. There was also a small sofa and a table and two chairs. On the balcony was another table with two chairs. The winter sun does indeed shine into the rooms in the afternoon and my room was nice and warm. There was a walk in shower and a large sink. Everything appeared to be clean and there was plenty of hot water for my shower. ||In one corner of the bedroom was a cupboard and fridge, and inside the cupboard I found a kettle, toaster and various bits of cutlery and crockery which I was not expecting. So I could buy some breakfast things for the following morning and have breakfast at the motel. All in all a reasonable place to stay, however it is a bit far from the centre of Bicheco to walk back into the town to the bars...
Read moreSituated near the western extremity of Bicheno in a quiet area, it's only a short walk from Redbill Beach and a penguin watch site, but it's a 1.5km walk into the centre of Bicheno if you're that active. Our room was quite large but could have done with a bit more bench space for suitcases. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean and spacious. Oddly, no washers were supplied with the towels. Reception had no issue supplying them but seemed surprised by my request. Some of the power points were located in strange (inconvenient) places, and a couple more would have been handy. Carpets were in good condition and the room contained a very effective heater (no aircon). All the usual expectations (tea, coffee, sugar/sweeteners, jug, fridge, TV, radio) were met. Rooms were not cleaned during our 3 night stay (no big deal) and breakfast is no longer served (a Covid casualty, apparently). There is a small on-site laundry for guest use, if required. We weren't expecting The Ritz, and we got what we paid for, but I'd have no issues...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights in Room 10 which is accessed via a driveway behind th ee motel. My husband had to fix the toilet seat when we arrived. The toilet roll holder was held together with rubber bands. The kickboards in the hallway were very grotty and desperately need a vacuum. The 2 sofas in the very small kitchen area were uncomfortable, I lifted the lounge cushions to find big wrips in the fabric that had been stickytaped together, it was also pretty gritty and needed a vacuum. The driveway to our out of the way room was very untidy, a rusty old hot water system was laying on the grass. The 1 washing machine in the guest laundry was out of order with a note advising guests to use the laundromat in town, the lady manager did kindly do a load of washing for us. I wouldn't recommend room 10, maybe the other...
