We arrived at 7.30 pm and asked if the restaurant was still open - advised yes. From the moment we sat down the waitress was onto us to hurry up our order. I was travelling with a friend from the USA and specifically asked if the scallops were Tasmanian and was advised YES. I said that's good because you know how Tasmanians are about their seafood. The garlic butter scallop dish arrived with rice, salad and CHIPS! Whenever have you seen that. The garlic butter had been standing too long and was sharp, the scallops tasted dreadful. I asked another waitress - where are the scallops from. She said PERU! We never would have ordered old frozen Peruvian scallops at a Tasmanian seafood restaurant. The waitress said it was just an oversight etc. and offered to discount the bill. Unfortunately, she seemed more concerned about defending her colleague and her own sensitivities to legitimate customer complaints than she was about our bad experience. Watching the staff rush around clearing up from the time of arrival imparted a sense of "we want to get out of here early". Not nearly as...

Ordered a Tas Salmon and the fish only has fresh water taste. Does not feel like I am eating a fish at all. I love eating eating Salmon both raw and cooked, but this is the first time I tired a fresh water tasted Salmon.
Compare to other visitors I am not being treated that bad, it just spent me 15min waiving hands for order my dinner. But however, finally when the old lady come by taking the order, I was given a lecture by her. I just quote what she said here: "There is no use in waving hand. I have a list of tables to serve (in a particular ordering she mean) and I will come to you when it is your turn". Ha?! A good service include a free lecture! :)
When I am done with my dinner, you know what I have to do in this "decent" restaurant? I have to walk straight out of the door and pay at the table, and the meal for two persons with drink...
Read moreI searched google map and found a review saying this restaurant was good, so I decided to try it out in March 2008 when I travelled to Bicheno with my husband. The decor of the restaurant was comtempory, the atmosphere was great. My first impression towards this restaurant was pretty good. After I sat down, we ordered a garlic bread as entree, salmon, fish & chips as main. The garlic bread took a long time(15-20min) to come over, and they were half burnt. The waitresses were too busy, and we were so hungry that didn't even bother to ask them to swop, it may take longer time to arrive. Anyway, we waited for the main course. My husband had the salmon, he was expecting the salmon cooked in a crispy skin and tender flesh way, but he was disappointed. My fish was so so, the chips tasted better. The dinner cost about $80, and it was not as good as the one we had in the launceston casino bristro cafe, which...
